The Other Half a film about a football fan on his honeymoon in Portugal during Euro 2004. Complete and utter rubbish with a wife who is supposed to be American but is actually Scouse. Truly terrible.

Over Christmas I watched 'Le Parapluis Noir et un Petit Chou en Bateau Verte'. Black & white with subtitles,... but I did cry when the cabbage got washed out to sea watched by a one legged mime artist pretending to eat frogs legs with a balsamic reduction. Oh hang on,.. I've got the dvd cases mixed up,.. it was actually Mamma Mia!

Anything involving Steven Segal! Won't be watching "Zohan" again either...normally I like Adam Sandler but this was too stupid even for him. "The Village" is another that I can happily despatch to Movie Room 101, along with my brother's favourite "Zombie Strippers".

Boxing Helena. A film so bad that it defies description. An arthouse film, an obsessed boyfriend ends up removing his girlfriends arms and legs and keeps her in a box. It can be described as being a bit of armless fun but you would be advised to be legless when you watch it.

I am amazed that nobody in 50 posts has picked out the world's biggest load of film rubbish - Borat. Total and utter tripe! I am sure Sacha Baron Cohen must have set out to see how much he could insult the public's intelligence and show that you can get away with this sort of rollocks if you have a name which attracts attention.

I am a science fiction fan but I think Star Wars the most overrated film(s) of all time. The worst film changes weekly now as I watch Digiturk recent stuff. The dross coming out of America every month in vast numbers is amazing. Some good stuff too but so many films made now and the more popular are usually the worst for me. No Country for Old Men was also overrated from the usually good Coen Brothers who have lost it of late. Burn after Reading was aslo below par if not quite funny.

When we lived in Dubai we were invited guests from our Bank to the premier of Vanilla Sky starring Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz. We both sat through it until nearly the end and neither of us had a clue what it was all about. Even the thought of the free booze and buffet at the end didn't entice us to stay so we crept out of the cinema. Still to this day it must go down as the worse film we have ever seen.

Moulin Rouge (but good music and artistic direction). A rich director with no idea on cinema... 2012 (but good effects). too looong and repettitive... Star Wars I (The fantom menace). Childish and boring. The others are OK to me, specially the old ones. For MSG 6, a good film with Hugh Grant is "The man who went up a hill but came down a mountain". He's still in his role of "I'm stupid and I know it", but the film is brilliant. Check it!

'One mans meat is another'...2001 is right up there in my top 10 of all time but I can understand it not being everyone's cup of cha; to continue the food metaphors. If/when we encounter intelligence life elsewhere in the Universe it will more likely be akin to the events in 2001 than the usual little green monsters or ET cuddly things most sci fi films portray. Kubrick worked closely with the genius sci fi writer Clarke on 2001 and the film was as close to the book as it could have been and stands the test of time with very few sci fi films getting close to the meticulous effects and atmosphere. However, I find it amazing how mankind has seemed to regress lately in space exploration. When this film came out we mostly thought events portrayed in it like space bases and moon colonies would have happened by now but we seem stuck on making small gadgets for more and more inane communication where little is really said bar trivia and repeated lines of basic conversation.
