In what context was the word used? Also I think you need the correct spelling, as I do not recognise this word at all!!

This is a good site to do translations for free. http://translation.babylon.com/Turkish/to-English

However, like denizkisi says I do not think the spelling is right as the site does not know the word.

there is no such word as "Afiyorum"

If it was "opuyorum" it means "kiss you"

usually used by mainland Turks at the end of telephone calls as to say "bye"

Iceman

Just looked in my turkish dictionary and ''afi'' is shown as - ostentation, show-off, splash, splurge, swagger, strut. How would that fit in with the 'yorum' bit?

Could it be afiyet olsun? As in enjoy your meal. They say it all the time in restaurants and sometimes in shops when purchasing fresh food from the meat/deli counter.

the art of it is, learn it but don't use it , only when you are in trouble, lol.

i love just listening what is said around me because people think i don't understand them!

when you get the cypriot who says they don't speak english, swear at them and watch their face!

its great fun.

i am only learning turkish but - affetmek - means to pardon, forgive or excuse

so affetiyorum would mean i am pardoning/forgiving ( present tense) ?????? if that makes any sense
