You may recall I am a 66 year young single man living in Lapta, and asked for single ladies to get in touch.I met some delightful ladies, but so far no "x"factor,so I reapply.

But as a matter of interest,I write an interesting quote from a male friend"most single women are in the bitter and twisted"league. They act like "mature Shirley Valentines".Cypriot ladies want a ring on their finger before any action!!

He has found happiness from someone not on this island.

Is he right? Will I not find happiness with a British/Cypriot from this island?

My direct email is available.

I am genuine just looking for happiness and a partner to share my life on this lovely island.

I would like to meet your friend who thinks most single women are bitter and twisted, I dont know who you have met but most of us are real genuine people, and not Shirley Valentines, good luck with your quest

Oh Mike i am so sad i am spoken for . you are such a catch especially as you are self sufficient in that garden of yours try this for wooing

.

Heart beet

Do you carrot at all for me?

My heart beets for you,

With your turnip nose

And your radish face.

You are a peach.

If we cantaloupe,

Lettuce marry.

Weed make a swell pear.

hi pipie love it love it love it. mike perhaps if you put your exact reqirements you will eliminate what you call the shirley valentines. sweetheart love has a way of finding you , never be lonely you have great friends love them in the nicest possible way and love yourself. you have a lot to offer but take time. not everybody these days wants commitment espically if you are looking and im not suggesting that you are a dolly bird, they will live you high and dry. Arm candy is a great boost to a man but now its the comfort of knowing somebody cares cariad . To find continment find it in yourself first. Would you like a couple of little dos to love as i have 2 i have to find homes for and you would love them to pieces. Mile my baby its out there give it chance, before you know it te arrow will pierce yor heart trust me xxxxx

Mike. How do you spend your days? I'm assuming that you don't work. Therefore it is probably very difficult to get out and meet people if you are on your own. Why not start up a 'walking round Cyprus' group. You could get groups of people together and you never know you might meet someone. Or why not start a dance group - something that brings people together at very little cost.

Bill - the voice of reason, as always.

I appreciate that Mike is looking for a good lady, but could it be that he sounds a little "desperate"?

Mike - be yourself, by all accounts you sound quite a catch!

Remember - patience is a virtue.

Personally, if I were looking for a soul mate, as it seems you are, I think the "mad passionate love" bit may be a little offputting. I know we are none of us in the first flush of youth and we don't necessarily want to hold hands for months, but...................

With kind regards.

Phylray/Mike - perhaps you could do "bird share" - bit like Job share in the UK - you share a bird and send her to the other bloke when you are fed up with her...

In fact, might drop the thought to my Missus...

Message 53 - Yes, Nick, I posted it! What I actually meant by this was supposed to be the fact that just because Mike is no longer a youngster (in years, if not attitude anyway) it doesn't mean that he cannot still enjoy a happy lovelife. I didn't mean that Mike should be looking out for a lady who's elderly -what about then "you're only as old as the woman you feel"? LOL

mes 54 - point taken Jean - my point was that starting with a completely clean sheet, as Mike is - IMHO, he'd be better off going for a younger woman than one of his own age.

I thank everyone for their advice so far .Just a couple of points:

I am NOT looking for the extra young girls,I believe they are available by the hour.24/7.

I am told "Eastern Ladies"prefer their men 10/15 years older because they are less likely to stray, and not turned into alcoholics.

My experience of British women of my age is that they are "grannies"devoting themselves to their grand children only, and forget about themselves.

Yes,I too am a Granddad,and maybe should act that way."knit one,pearl one"ugh.

But I have too much life in me.An article I read claims that men my age are equal to the men of forty, some 20 years ago.Perhaps it's the little blue pill that keeps us younger!!!!!

I certainly do not feel any different to 20years ago.But it needs to be put to the test!!!!

I garden everyday.Don't do siestas yet.Yes I'll join the Walking club...good idea.

Someone asked if I work. Was a workaholic in UK for 40 years, now enjoying the rest.Just need that special person!!!

Firstly Michael, devoting time with the grandchildren is a joy and a blessing and I feel so rich for having them, I only wish mine lived closer, but that doesnt make us grannies in person, maybe if you spent sometime with yours you wouldn't be so lonely, yes having someone to share dreams with is lovely but not the end of the world, friends can bring such happiness. I consider myself a young person who likes to live life, look and dress nice and enjoy everything around us, yes its nice to go out with the opposite sex, but reading your advert you seem to think that passion is the be and all of life. but we are not 20 and hopping into bed with every person we meet would make us no better than the girls who live in the coloured houses. I don't know what articles you read about men being 20 years younger than they are, its like reading your horoscope and believing everything you read.

Liven up Mike and enjoy what you have, then and only then you will meet the right person, I hope so.

I do agree with your posting. Never knew my own grans so I try to make

sure I do the best I can with my two & consider myself lucky to have them

living nearby. I also have a very full life with 3 classes, gym/swimming,

meals on wheels, travel, walking, theatre, dancing etc. so, yes, it would be

good to meet the right person to share things with, I don't have time to

waste on wronguns (been there.) and as you say it's not everything.

Smithy, did you not give birth to children, and it is their duty to bring up their children?I love ALL my off-spring,but they are in UK.And I am in TRNC.

How dare you say if I spent more time with mine,I would not be so lonely!!

You assume and presume too much. There are 365 days and nights this year, perhaps I will see my kids/gkids 28 days of this time.

So another 337 days and nights without them here.A new life to discover.

And can I ask you to re-read my messages with your glasses on.Nowhere have I suggested I am into bed-hopping,or being promiscuous. But it is you being malicious and twisting my words. You also state"passion is not the be all of life".I agree, but I believe it is a big part of the maturer life.

I am doing my best to find love on this island. Most members including Negative Nick, even, are being very positive, and supportive.

Perhaps if you were a more positive, life will not be passing you by.

Sounds like I hit a nerve, and I thought my message was very polite, I do not let life pass me by in fact I enjoy every minute of it, whether its with my family or friends, maybe its just a woman thing that loves having their families close by, if so then maybe your right. But it was your message about if we want to be with them then we are classed as grannies and spend our time knitting. I can assure you how wrong you are, I have never been with anyone who doesn't talk about their children/grandchildren men or women who wouldn't given the chance spend more time with them. But I know not everyone is the same. So as I said in my message I do hope you find what you are looking for, and no its not nasty or malicious,

Mike

I have been on my own for 10 years now and love every minute, wouldn't have it any other way. I am lucky in that I have a few good friends, but it could also be that I am not a very gregarious person so dont need people, and sex, well if its being offered I will accept it but quite happy to do without!

Perhaps you are trying too hard, mate. That special person will only come along when the time is right, and when you are least expecting it.

Good luck!

Just seen report that Chinese woman of 107 is looking for a husband

for the first time! Never married as it looked too scary (it was in China

for women when she was young) Decided to risk it now!

The bit about 'Eastern ladies' reminded me about the Louis Theroux programme on Thai brides that had been on tevision recently.

One bloke who was the introduction agency boss met a Thai lady, proposed on the first date and married her two days later.

They seperated eight days later.

Another chap married a Thai lady a couple of days after meeting her and eight months later she left him for a rich european, taking with her £12000 of his money.

I once went to a party in U.A.E held by an English man to celebrate his

divorce from his Thai wife. There were several charming Thai ladies at

the party and he made lovely, spicy Thai food, so he did get something out of it!

Mike, watch the drinking and smoking, I'm not preaching, it's so hard to express 'feelings' in text, but it's not good for any one of any age, look after the heart and the heart will look after you.

Good Luck

Oh no no no , Mike this is where you might be going wrong , now please take this as constructive criticism as i only trying to help you . You must stop smoking no one like's to be canoodling next to some one who smells like an old ash tray , believe me been there wore the T/shirt gave up a very long time ago and never looked back . Hope this helps .

Pipie surely Mike needs to meet a lady & get to know her before he gets to the canoodling stage? Are you saying that smokers can't have partners? cos I assure you thats not true - I smoke and often canoodle (though definately not at the same time!) There's such thinks as toothpaste & mouthwash you know!

Of all the qualities to look for in a future partner I think smoking or not should be way down the list, after all, if Mike meets a nice lady who he really 'clicks' with I'm sure he'll gladly give up his weed for her!

I agree with some of your points Maggie well said , however smokers do smell like old ashtrays , smoke gets into clothes , furniture , and the worst is a smokers car , Just my point of you ,and as i have said i used to smoke , so i have been there wore the t/shirt . Yes of course smokers have partners no wrong in that obviously , any how just my thoughts .

Pipie,it will give me great pleasure to stop smoking and/or drinking when i find that special person.

Fot the past couple of hours I've been pruning in the garden...singing one of my favourite songs by Meatloaf..."I will do anything for love..."

"but I won't do that!!".....I don't think there is a "that" I wouldn't do

I have been following Mikes threads (as a guest) but I have to say that a man who is in his late 60's is, in my opinion is a little too old for someone who is 50? Also everyone of that age has a past, and that past will no doubt include children and grandchildren!! It seems that Mike wants a stepford wife - a blank sheet - and no past!! And speaking as a woman, I find it very offputting that he goes on about wanting sex and using viagra (yuk)!! What about making friends with someone and seeing how it goes? If I went on a date with Mike I would be on tenderhooks all night wondering when he would start his "mad passionate lovemaking" speech, at which point I would definitley do a runner!!! My advice? Accept that you an elderly man and look for someone of your own age!!!!!

message 95. Nick you are so right when you get this sort of comment from British women.

And to Madmazz I don't know know where you get your ideas from.I am an officer and a gentleman...Rest assured you do not suddenly "take a pill",and go barking mad,rip your clothes off and want to make mad passionate love.

Just do some research and find the truth.

I am a loving gentle person

Mike,

I once heard that there are three things you should hire rather than own.

A Yacht

A Helicopter

A Woman

If you want a housekeeper/maid - hire one

If you want a cook - hire one

If you want a lover - hire one

Why don't you buy Namika's rabbits and give up on the partner thing?

Or her friend's horse and go for long walks or trots or whatever.

Hi lem think I will go for the rabbits, but then may get a bunny boiler.

Seriously though, all you married men, stop extracting the urine, give me a chance on this forum.

I have been married, had a wife or two for over 40 years. When working in UK,it was not so bad,and had lots of friends to see at weekends.

Here, now retired,I am free 24/7 and want female company to enjoy my house, pool, garden and this island.

Yes,I may be trying too hard,so if you have any better suggestions, please let me know

Dear Mike,on a constructive note, just remembered the British Residents Association have meetings at the Pia Bella + other events/activities - their website has been on here, but they are behind the P.O in Kyrenia. I was speaking to an old dear in the library there in November. Good luck mate, regards,Steve

Mike,

Take a hundred TL to one of the nightclubs every Saturday night and do yourself (and this BB) a favour. No comebacks, no flowers, no phone calls, no promises and best of all, no more posts about your lovelife - or lack of it.

Re Msgs 133 & 134

How nasty some people can be! If you don't like the posts about Mike's lovelife - or lack of it - you don't have to read them do you? after all, the thread is titled 'Lover/Partner required - I'm amazed at how many married men keep reading it!

Good luck Mike - there's a nice lady out there somewhere with your name on her!

To Maggie and Bernie..thanks for that

To TRNC Vaughan and Eager;

read my message 131 again.

Have you got nothing better to do?

Anything more from you,it will be worth getting banned for a few days

to tell you in stronger terms how pathetic and childish your replies are.

Maggie,

I cannot believe how long this thread has dragged on. Surely Mike has got his message accross by now and if he doesn't pull soon, he isn't going to.

My message to him - from a married man - is "it isn't worth the hassle". Get yourself down to the Natashias on a week-end and have the rest of the week in peace and quiet to yourself.

TRNCVaughan

Just checked this thread was started on 10th January - it is now the 22nd Jan

You think 12 days is a long enough timespan for Mike to 'Pull'? how sad you are! As for making weekly visits to a prostitute I don't think that's what he had in mind - if you read his posts he wants someone special to share his new life in Cyprus with - not a weekly s**g and a dose of God knows what! You obviously hold women in very low regard and I can't imagine what Mrs TRNCVaughan sees in you! Why do YOU bother being married when you could take 100tl down to the natasha house and get yourself 'seen to'?

Didn't realise there were still sad, old, masogonists like you in the world!

Indeed we are Pipie. Mike sounds lovely.

I have only read this thread today and feel I have to say that message 95 could not be more wrong. My husband is 18 years older than me which means when I am 50, he will be in his late 60's. That doesn't bother me in the slightest - if it did I wouldn't have married him in the first place. As long as both partners are looking after themselves and each other, there's no reason why the age gap should be an issue. Maybe I haven't put that very well but I know what I mean. I just think message 95 was a rather sweeping statement.

Good luck Mike xx

Nothing wrong with the night clubs how often have you seen or read about rapes or attacks on women here in the trnc, not often. Read what goes on in the south each year there are scores of attacks. I dont need to use them fortunately at the moment !!! The oldest profession in the world so they say.

Good luck Mike in your search, soon be summer plenty of lady tourists this year. lol. Not sure but Oscars Hotel have the solo tourists every year worth a trip just to ask one of the staff.

Message 135 - I agree that this thread is, what it states, "looking for lover" BUT.... It has also crept in at every opportunity on other threads hasn't it? The Fez thread, the doom and gloom thread etc. I am very sorry that he is so lonely but maybe this forum isnt the right place?

Why's that Madmazz? what harm is Mike doing? and why does it bother you so much? What makes you the expert on what this forum is the right place for? having just joined it a week ago and aftre only 8 posts you've certainly got a lot of opinions! As far as I am aware, this forum is for residents/guests & friends of the TRNC to get together and share ideas, ask questions, make friends - and I don't see a ban on a lonely hearts thread in the rules!

Good on ya Mike! keep trying!

Messages 133 & 137, Vaughan, I think Mike may be having a laugh with us all, but if you were to share more of your personal nightclub experiences with us, it might make for a more interesting thread!

mike ciirad take no notice you are filling us with hope. like kitty msg 142 my toy boy is 15 years younger/older than me but you grow to each others ways. she spoke a lot of sense but the men here are so settled they maybe maried to the same lady, so they may and i retirate MAY retain old fashioned views and values. we all want to se mike settled. i have a hat to eat if he is not. back in uk youcan go through all the dating sites and you lucky married men here would not know them. here its more difficult. In this quiet period I may start a free hearts club. Boys support him ladies encourage mike. What beter cause with valetines around the corner. To the men you are so lucky. give love a chance. Mike if you havent found anybody by 14th feb the night in the restuarant is dedicated to you, ifd you have then the v i p table is for you

Do they have ballroom dancing in the TRNC? if so, then Mike take it up, my father in law (died last year at the grand old age of 81) took it up again when he was widdowed (18 years ago)and was never without female company, outlived 2 of his serious girlfirends and dated a couple more before settling down again with a lovely lady who he was with until he died.

As an ex-Merchant Navy salt for 16 years , I can reveal that I have extensive experience in "nightclubs" all over the world, and I can tell you that they serve a great purpose for some people. As a married man I don't include people like myself, now, but single blokes like Mike would be well advised to try one out. He might be surprised how suddenly his quest of finding a new life-partner takes a back seat.

As to cost - shouldn't be more than the same as a couple of G&Ts, a meal for 2 and a bottle of wine, which sounds about what Mike was thinking of spending, only my way you are guaranteed to get your leg over...

As Samuel Johnson said:

"Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience."

Don't knock temporary sex, it's better than none at all...

Denizkisi,of course I am.Looks like TRNC Vaughan was a whoring sailor.I was a Royal Navy Officer.A difference in standards.I spent much time getting sailors out of brothels, and seeing how many got veneral diseases.

I will wait until true love comes along, and save myself until then.

Hi Mike,

I was also an officer but in the Merchant Navy and you're right - we do have different standards.

The Merchant Navy goes to sea for the money and the Royal Navy goes for the honour. We both do it for what we haven't got.

BTW we haven't forgotten or forgiven you for PQ17. Somehow you guys were just never there when we needed you....
