The sound on my TV has suddenly gone (It works well in every other respect).

Could someone please recommend a TV repairer? I live in Ozankoy.

Dave, look on this as a bonus - some of the garbage on Dodgyturk is better with the sound off anyway !!

On a serious note - these are a couple of Electrical repair shops down Tin Pan Alley - from memory, there is one right opp Beyti's restaurant....

Do you use your TV with a satellite receiver? If so,check the scart connection if you have one...sometimes if the scart socket is not seating properly you loose the sound.

Thanks for the advice. I've jiggled it, smacked it and kicked it to no avail. I think a trip to Tin Pan Alley is in order.

Dave had a similar problem, only ours was intermittant sound and no picture.

Took it to HayPem on the main road Lapta near to the Rivada Fish and Chip Shop. Mind you still waiting to get it back, they do take some time.

Problem solved. You were right Iceman (aren't you always!)

I had another jiggle with the scart connection and this did the trick.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

I have a portable TV ,Arcelik, which is used as a remote of a Sky Link setup ie remote from Sky Box. The connection to the portable tv is via the Ant and not by scart, so the audio signal is the UK frequency and so the portable does not reproduce the audio hence need to change to UK audio freq.Hope that explains.

I understand your problem.

Are you sure it is not posible to change audio frequency of your Arcelik TV from menu settings?

If not possible to change from menu settings it might be a cheaper option to install a modulator.

A modulator is an electronic device where you connect to scart out put of your source and it produces an RF signal through a coax cable.
