an ancient village was in the vicinity and the antiquities dept are involved hence the moving/redesigning of the breakwater to reduce potential for damage.

as far as i know no new roads have been laid yet (there is already access to the shoreline here).

Hi all i asked the question a few weeks ago to the company selling the berths

this is there reply hope it helps......... mark

Dear Mark,

Many thanks for your e-mail regarding Port Cyprium Marina.

Unfortunately we have encountered various delays as there are various authorities in North Cyprus who need to grant their permissions before anything can proceed. All the planning, building permissions and visas have been obtained by the government, but currently the antiquities department have requested that the breakwater of the marina be moved. The architectural plans have been re-submitted with the changes and just waiting final approvals.

I estimate that construction will commence in 2008, and the construction period will be approximately 18 months. Around 8-9 months into construction we will also be able to start mooring boats in the marina.

With regards to the marina berths, we are currently taking a list of interest if you would like me to include your name on the list and I will forward details of prices. Please note that when further details are released you are not obligated to purchase, but being on the list you will obviously receive the option.

If you have any further questions or queries, please let me know and I will be happy to help.

With kind regards,

Paul Ellingford
