Skogsy - WOW! The Seychelles 25 years ago would have been a very expensive place to go!

First night in Three Tuns Hotel in Durham 36 years ago, before heading off to Somerset. Came across the bill last year and coincidentally we held our Christmas Party there recently, which was my first time back there. Thought it would be a hoot to take my bill to Reception and ask them to recheck as I thought I'd been overcharged, which I did....only to be asked "Please can we have our towels back?"!!!!!

Hi

Hope you are both well. We were wondering whether you are coming over for our anniversaries, as we will have to think of somewhere to go. We have had some respite this week from the cold weather, it is much milder. Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Jean & Terry

Just today received the above email... We went to the Metropole Hotel, Blackpool in March '62, the place was rocking 105 other honeymooners... Met 2 couples at breakfast the next day & went all over Blackpool in my A35 Countryman (Van with windows)... Ice skating, wrestling at the Winter Gardens ... Kept in touch over the years, celebrating every year since '71.. Sadly Peter died in 2000 leving 5 of us...Torremolinas for 2 weeks '87 for our Silver... 2 weeks in Malta '92 for our 30th all 6 of us... Canary Island cruise 2002 for 40th.. Since moving to Cyprus missed last year for the first time... 47 years in March... If the next 3 years pass as quick as the last... Will definitely meet up for the big "50"

No1Doyen,

We honeymooned in Spain 2nd marriage, but suffered an emergency landing, landing in Barcelona.

The rest of the journey took 12 hours, by coach.

I couldn't call our children and say hello for 2 days because it was all so frightening/emotional.

It was one of the new Doncaster Airports first flights as well!

Day trip to Neasden by train (could only afford a platform ticket but we got away with it) and treated wifey to a coffee and cake at Lyons corner house. She was well impressed. In fact she was asking me only the other day if we could do it again. From the TRNC? yeh right.

Would definitely recommend Kenya/Tanzania for a safari - they have some real luxury lodges with all mod cons, but a real safari/camping fee and so romantic to be in the wilderness under the stars. There are also great beaches for relaxing if you make it a two centre-holiday with safari-beach.

Ankara Travel in Girne are great for organising flights etc

No1Doyen,

Yer just a bit!

The flat we rented had a 2 bottles of fizzy left for us to celebrate!

That was a really nice suprise.

After a few days of shock we had it in the Spanish sunshine with prawns and fresh baked bread yum.

For me\ it was Raffles Singapore then onto my sister In Austrila. It was lovely but she booked us a trip to pemberton and I took all my best frocks and high heels.Well I had to climb a tree in 5 inch heels. The loveliest part was it was a one eyed town. Guido and my brother in law went fishing to catch our supper and left me and my sister shopping. Well the only shop turned out to be an aladins cave. I bought La Perla underwear, Lobster cutters and many other named things. Teach them to leave me with a credit card in a one horse town. O h girls also loads of woolfords xxxxxx

No1Doyen, we had swallows tatooed on our necks, love/hate on our knuckles and she had a big eagle across her chest but I declined as I thought it was a tad to chav.
