We are in the process of buying a 2 bed apartment - should have been completed in Aug 07 - we have had a nightmare with the estate agents we used and the builder / developer just so happens to be the husband of the estate agent. We are in the final stages and are now being told that they will only agree to the contractual comp even tho he offered a further amount in writing last month - we deducted this from the last payment and he has now chucked a big strop told us he isnt giving us the keys and also that he is turning our elec / water off. We also paid for central heating which has not been fitted - apparently we were told this!! The apartments are in Girne and called Yesilkoy - has anyone bought there or know of anyone who has and is having similar problems.

you won't be the first and you probably won't be the last.....

There is little you can do and your builder knows this....

A glowing advert for buying a completed property with Kocan, water and leccy connected..

Good luck anyway - perhaps try your lawyer - or HBPG for a "group hug"...

If he has offered the compensation agreed in your contract then you should probably bite his hand off. Most developers refuse point blank to pay any compensation whatsoever.
