Just bought my first home in Alsancak with a sky dish already installed, but in bad condition & not working properly.

I need to buy replacement but cannot afford a new one.

I miss watching Eastenders!

Does anyone know who whats to sell a 4m metal dish?

Thanks

Yes, but I think iceman is nearer and I am sure he would be prepared to assist if asked to do so.

do bear in mind that the assembly of the Sky dish is paramount - not really a DIY job - if you buy second hand, you may struggle to get a pro to assemble it for you, as they'd rather sell you a new one...

And if you do manage to get a second hand one assembled - if it doesn't work correctly, the BBC and ITV channels will be the ones that will not work, which really defeats the whole object of having a 4m dish....

Try "Meta Sat" opp HSBC bank - found they were cheaper than Iceman and very helpful....

The thing that stands out (pardon the expression) about Iceman is his commitment to after sales service, yes not quite as cheap as others but he uses good quality parts and provides superb service. So sometimes it is worth paying that little bit extra for peace of mind.

Hi Stanley1, do you have a contact number for Maisy Browns, it's worth trying?

I've been told that Iceman is good but like everyone else needs to sell & make money, so I assume secondhand gear is not his game.

There are many "pros" out there who would help assemble a dish for a few bucks. Times are hard so every penny counts?

Nick, I will try "Meta Sat" as well - cheers.

Negative, re 6

you are quite right about the 4.2m .. it HAS to be a prefect parabolic shape or you have a big waste of money...

There is NO-ONE on island that can make a 4.2m "talk" like iceman.. he has built 'em for years and the manufacturer even asks him for advice re improvements..

I assure you we do not have any commercial dealings... I just know of his work. You gets what you pays for.. He has the best piece of kit for tuning, and he takes his time to get it right.. When I lived in Cyprus, we bounced ideas of each other and we both competed to get these dishes to pull signals in that no-one else could and put them up in places where others said it couldn't be done... ;)

For both of us it was a hobby we got paid for .. !

I don't know of Meta-sat, but they will have to be someting special... Icey is THE most respected sat installer on a site visited by installers from all over the world...

Hey Mustafa, is my chq in the post

Re Messages 7 & 9 - "Hear Hear". I completely second AJ and MM's remarks regarding Iceman and the superior service he provides.

By the way - Iceman is often called over to the South to sort out problems there. There truly is no one better in Cyprus for 4.2m dish installations and servicing.

(He's pretty hot on refridgeration too - maybe a Presidential candidate of the future?)

Or you could type satman into the google search bar at the top of this page, and talk to Agip who also fits 4.2 dishes.
