I am looking to open a bank account for use in N Cyprus. My main concern is ease of use, paying utlity bills and internet banking rather than rates of interest. Am I better off to open an HSBC account in the UK. Is it a preferred choice of bank. If I open an account in N Cyprus rather than here what are the busy banking times to avoid.

Many thanks

This must be a joke question. Just remember to take a good book, several newspapers, a drink and enough food to get you through your wait.

Quick answer - forget HSBC, TRNC if you want quick, simple service. IMO Garanti Bank is a far better choice.

Forget HSBC!! The waiting tımes are awful. Use ASBANK in Karaoğlanoğluu. They remember your name never make you waşt and are never that busy. Only Cyprıots seem to bank there. Excellent!!
