Are you seeking a home carer or medically trained person to look after a family member.

Do you need a break, maybe a few hours or one day a week – I can help.

Medically trained carer available. Interested please contact me to discuss your needs. olwen

Medical training is what doctors do for five years before qualifying, so it must be a good service!

Before appointing a carer for an elderly relative please exercise extreme caution. Many people are registered in England on the Protection of Vulnerable adults register and it is a requirement for PRIVATE care homes to check this yet not for the NHS and overseas carers so be warned...

What the hell is wrong with you people????

Re- message 1

This person has offered a service and yes by all means ask for references, check the registers etc. before employing her but please don't shoot her down in the water. I think that the sensless postings attempting humour are totally tasteless. The woman is looking for a job and has not hidden her details at all. I really don't think that there is call for the negative/ non funny/nasty comments. I am quite sure that there will be someone needing her help.

Hi helper,

I am sure with your list of qualifications you will be offered a job soon. Please ignore the nasty and tasteless comments from some mebers of this board. Unfortunately they do seem to outnumber positive postings these days.

They call it humour, I call it childish.

Once again someone is offering a good service, as Deputy Director of the Civil Emergency Services Volunteers (Formally 112) Olwen asked permission to go on this board. Again we get stupid responsies. I suggest you visit some of the hospitals and see for yourselves what goes on and a carer can and does a lot to help the relatives. Those whom know me know me as Terry2 and beacuase of the actions of certain people here I cannot wait to leave permantly.

Message 10 could this be expanded ? the notes therein do not convince me that I would want you to care for an elderly relative of mine. My elderly relatives do not climb mountains for example and this is your opportunity to expand your cv on care of elderly people. For example you could include your training details such as dementia, manual handling etc etc this would give the readers more confidence in your abilities and get you some work.Respite on short term basis can help those struggling with elderly relatives. Good luck I am sure you would agree with me that there are some people who undertake care and are really not suitable.

sorry i have not posted my cv. Rescue team members are trained in many aspects, such as manual handling, resusitation, rescue from confined spaces eg car crashes, earthquakes and other major disasters , along with many other aspects of care. I also stated i have qualifications, which can be examined should a person require my help.

Thanks to terry2 for his support, and yes i agree many people struggle under the strain of looking after relatives who are ill or hospitilised. And yes i have seen this many times. olwen

reply to message 15,i worked as a carer with the social services for 16 years and it takes a special kind of person to do this kind of work, many people come into care work not realising exactly what the job entails, looking after the elderly thay need a certain type of care which is 24/7.

many people come into the care services with no experiance which i agree everyone has to start somewere but nowadays a lot of care services require NVQ certainly level 1,but that doesn't always make a good carer

This will be my last time on Cyprus 44. This Lady is well qualified and she like others has been trained in Trauma physical and Pychologicl. But obviously you all are concetrating on the elderly its more than that. But ı am waisting my time. So good luck and when I am in uniform and you want MY CREDENTİALS CHECKED GO TO THE TRNC HEALTH MINISTRY, or MEDİCAL ASSOCİATION OR NEAR EAST UNİVERSITY TO NAME A FEW.
