I notice a lot of posts are getting hijacked by people such as me when we go off on a tangent about the beautiful game - well more like slagging other teams off.
I'm pretty sure there are probably people out there who do not even like the game - strange but true.
So a footie thread...............whose first?

Here's a song about a football team
The greatest team you've ever seen
A team that play total football
They've won the league, Europe and all
Chorus:
A Liverbird upon my chest
We are the men, of Shankly's best
A team that plays the Liverpool way
And wins the Championship in May
With Kenny Dalglish on the ball
He was the greatest of them all
And Ian Rush, four goals or two
Left Evertonians feeling blue
Now if you go down Goodison Way
Hard luck stories you hear each day
There's not a trophy to be seen
'Cos Liverpool have swept them clean
Chorus
Now on the glorious 10th of May
There's laughing reds on Wembley Way
We're full of smiles and joy and glee
It's Everton 1 and Liverpool 3
Chorus
Now on the 20th of May
We're laughing still on Wembley Way
Those Evertonians feeling blue
at Liverpool 3 and Everton 2
Chorus
And as we sang round Goodison Park
With crying blues all in a nark
They're probably crying still
at Liverpool 5 and Everton 0
Chorus
We remember them with pride
Those mighty reds of Shankly's side
And Kenny's boys of '88
There's never been a side so great
Chorus
Now back in 1965
When great Bill Shankly was alive
We're playing Leeds, the score's 1-1
When it fell to the head of Ian St John
Chorus
On April 15th '89
What should have been a joyous time
Ninety-six friends, we all shall miss
And all the Kopites want justice
JUSTICE!
Chorus
Who was it Paul???

Nice one sporty............I don't think we should dedicate this thread to picking on the @@##&&!! .......................stuff it here's another one:
Manchester United have apparently set up a call centre for fans who are troubled by their current form.
The number is 0800 10 10 10.
Calls charged at peak rate for overseas users.
Once again the number is
0800 won nothing won nothing won nothing.

hi jet
i agree all very close at the top, the only ones who will suffer a bit from the anc is arsenal who have 4 players who are african and chelsea with 4, liverpool has only 1 player, man u have no african first team players the biggest loss will be porstmouth they have 7 current first team players
even thou i like ronaldo very skillfull player but he does tend to fall like a sack of potaotes when someone just flicks him or if someone goes info a tackle he goes down like he has been shot, he should stop that cos it ruins the flow of the game
i dont know if you noticed my links mate to a couple of funny videos concerning spurs i have included them again for you to look at, tell me what you think mate

After a depressing Sunday, this cheered me up today:
A Man Utd fan dies on match day and goes to heaven in his Man Utd shirt. He knocks on the old pearly gates and out walks St. Peter in a Liverpool scarf.
"Hello mate" says St. Peter, "I'm sorry, no Man Utd fans in heaven."
"What ?" exclaims the man, astonished.
"You heard, no Man Utd fans."
"But, but, but, I've been a good man", replies the Man Utd supporter.
"Oh really", says St. Peter. "What have you done, then ?"
"Well" said the guy, "Three weeks before I died, I gave 10 pounds to the starving children in Africa".
"Oh" says St. Peter. "anything else?"
"Well, 2 weeks before I died I also gave 10 pounds to the homeless."
"Hmmm. Anything else?"
"Yeah. A week before I died I gave 10 pounds to the Albanian orphans."
"Okay", said St. Peter, "You wait here a minute while I have a word with the governor."
Ten minutes pass before St. Peter returns. He looks the bloke in the eye and says, "I've had a word with God and he agrees with me. Here's your thirty quid back, now f@!k off".

Well done Spurs, no doubt about it best team won,
As a matter of interest where was Bervatov? the best striker in the premiership!!.
Keane was a giant, best player for your club , not fully appreciated wish he had come to Man U.

hi guys
wot a night!!!!!!!
i could not belive how my team played with so much passion and made the gonners look 2nd class, gonner fans will prob say they did not have their first team out their but most of them did play still did not make any diffrence, what a way to end our 22 game 9 year jinx to them and our biggest win against them for 25 years and on that display we can beat anyone, win the cup and hopefully beat man u in the fa cup (one step at a time!!!!lol)
gottheyips you are right keane is without a doubt our best servant we have had at the club since hoddle and he would be a great addtion to any of the top club thruout europe
even thou berbatov had queit game he did assist in two of the goals jenas and start the counter with lennon's goal and hit the post and being the best striker in the premireship does not mean always scoring it has to do with your link up play and playing for your team which he did and i was quite surprised he even came back into midfield and defence to defend and yesterday it was not about one player it was a team effort even jenas played one of his best games ive seen him play in a spurs shirt fully deserves a england call up as well as dawson and king
i can just see chas and dave dusting of their piano for a sing song!!!! lol
tottenham are on their way to wembley tottenham are going to do it again!!!!!
regards
a essatic ukturk
p.s we even could do the treble!!!! ok double at least

berbatov is a very cultured, talented player who as well as scoring his fair share of goals creates many as well.Robbie keane against arsenal in the semi was awesome and is also a great player.ronaldo is awesome but a different type of player to the above mentioned.

Felt sorry for the lad he puts his heart and soul into every game, but it was deliberate albiet in a panic, and thus denied Rooney the opportunity of a chance at goal.

Looking at Ronaldos face after he scored said it all, it was obviously a strike that was very special.
It must rank amongst the best I have seen, however it has to be said that those in the wall did not react as you might expect, not one stud left the ground, faces turned away and a few arms went up to protect their precious good looks!!.
Nevertheless a free kick to remember.
He's still number ONE in my book.

ronaldo free kick ,good I,ll grant you , but gerrard and recent past 'legod' Le tissier have scored produced as good personnally I believe even more spectacular examples.

Being a man city season card holder - you can only be impressed with Ronaldo -if only Sven and Shinawatra could afford him.......

hi guys
pilgrim thanks, these free kicks were very special,
i cant belive we let defoe go, even thou he has been a fringe player for the last two seasons he is a good player and his attitıde has been outstanding he did not want to go but him being not chosen for the england squad must have been the last straw, i cant justify bringing in bent for 16mil and letting defoe go for a paltry 9mil and i hope this does not come back to haunt us, even still thou we got one of the most potent strike patnerships in the premire in berbatov and keane and even if berbatov does go at the end of the season i have heard from close sources that david villa will be coming in the summer and what a great player he is!!!!
at least we addressed our defence problem in bringing in woodgate and if he stays fit what a defender he is, also brought in welsh gunter even giggs has said what a player he is, hutton the best scotish player around since stevie archibald (s.a.f was gutted he did not get him), and of course not forgetting the great gilberto even thou he is getting on a bit still a top player
now looking forward to smashing chelski in the final and reaching the uefa final and hoping to get some revenge over man u at the weekend for them luckily beating us last weekend

hi guys
tony congrats on just beating sunderland, 3rd place mate you are optimistic i would say if you get fouth it will be a result
must say man u had a lucky escape once again, and if man u win the league this year they should give michael dawson a winners medal aswell!!!! lol
if it was not for dawson we would have one it, we made man u look like a average team, woodgate looking like a bargain kept ronaldo quiet all game, and once again berbatov showing his quality run man u ragged aswell as lennon shows we had them scared just look how many yellow cards they got because they lost their compsure, its just a shame its too late in the season to be challenging for the top spot, i already cant wait for next season to see what happens, but still we are on for the double, uefa cup and league cup come on your spurs!!!

Paul, glad you and the 3, 999 others enjoyed it mate. Different code I know, but went to watch the Wasps last year, first time at a rugby match, strange affair, lots of polite applause and well dones to both sides, nearly fell asleep.
Perhaps there is more passion in the Northern game?

I would imagine that Newcastle fans would see it as two points lost,
I watched the match and thought that Mid were the more threatening side, a draw though was probably a fair result.
Newcastle need to spend and unload the has beens, Smith, Owen, Butt, etc, if they are serious and want to compete this is a must.

hi guys
sorry to say the barcodes looked tame against a boro team that are not playing the best football at the moment!!! it looks ilke what i said, the second coming of the adopted mesihah does not seem to be working out played four, lost two and drawn two, to me they have no creative play or passion and keegans tactics look dated a lot has progreesed since he was a manager especially his backroom staff, arthur cox ok years ago he achevied a lot with derby but to old now , terry mcdermont not good enough and all the rest are big sams old coaches
they got a good bunch of players there like shay given, taylor, damein duff, emre, smith, milner, martins, n'zogbia, ameobi, barton, viduka, so its down to keegan to pull the team together but i dont think he will manage it (wish he does) thats why wise is there waiting in the wings for keegan to jump ship why do you think shearer did not go back

tomorrow, Feb 6, 1958, is the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.
8 young Man Utd players died.......the Busby Babes, others were badly injured, who knows what they would have achieved not only for the Mancs but also England............respect to them and United.

Whose that team they call united, whose that team we all adore cos they play in red and white, and they fight with all their might and their about to show the world what they know.bring on sunderland and arsenal, bring on spaniards by the score, barcelona real madrid they will make a gallant bid but they will never take the team we all adore.for the flowers of manchester.

I watched it dodgy boy. It's like I thought it would be. capello likes to win and doesn't care if it aint pretty. I think it's a good move by the fa. 1st he can easily avoid pressure questions while being interviewed because he's engilsh is almost non existant. This might finaly shut the media up a bit. 2nd He's not an arse kisser and will do it his own way. I also think it was a good descision to put the cap arm band up for grabs. At the same time leaving out players who think their place is guarrenteed.

Should think so, the swiss aren't exactly world beaters. Their ex manager won't even save the cottagers this year.

The Wisey Q, do you not think it puts his foot in the door for future premiership management. After all He did do a good job at Leeds this season.

Del, check the stats on his last 9 games. Looks like he'd lost the plot. Leeds fans have mixed views on him going. Bet Keegan got a shock, since I'm a mackem I think Mike Ashley is also one based on this appointment.

I just see it as a really strange post and for him to be based in london as well,i certainly think he has his own thoughts atthe forefront, with maybe in the future a premiership managers job.I think the chairman at newcastle is an absolute head the ball for getting rid of big sam and bringing in a jelly fish.
West ham fan eh pollytat always admired your team over the years, must break your heart to see all the players that you had,now playing for other clubs people like defoe, redknap, ferdinand, cole etc what pisses me of though is when people like joe cole come out with statements like "ive always been a chelsea fan" absolute bollocks.top six is possible dont you think.

centre of excitement is actually correct. Kimmit and Roberts say that the harbour of seaham has been the most proftable place in the COUNTRY for property investment over the last 8 years. Don't know how long you've been away but Tom's companies who own's the 5 star michelan star seaham hall has been given the go ahead to build a film studio. Thats not to mention East shore village. All good news for the harbour boyz and girlz eh!
