One of the nicest posters on this forum is leaving us for far away shores. I'm sure he'll have fond memories of the trnc. If you ever leave Cyprus what would you miss about it?

Decent kebabs and the climate. Friendliness of many genuine Turkish Cypriots. What i dont miss is the 3 tier pricing system, getting chastised for wasting water because i had a swimming pool but its ok for my Cypriot neighbour to water his garden and the road for an hour every night, lack of consumer laws in every sector.

Don't live in Cyprus (yet!) but the things I miss every time I leave are: 1. Kyrenia mountain range (and smell of pine) 2. Good food and eating out 3. Blue skies 4. Swimming in the sea 5. Friendly people I'll stop here or the list will reach 50!

I don't think it matters whether you leave a 'sink' estate in the North of England or a Paradise Island, the thing most people miss, is people. Family or friends mean so much more at the end of the day than 'that' beach, or mountain view etc. Geoff is obviously not going to be 'missing' the blue skies, beaches, good food or climate, he's going to have them aplenty! I have never met him, but as he said on his leaving thread, I feel I am also losing a friend. It's all about people. Rob

True words Rob. Barbados will give Geoff everything he has here - but you'll always miss your family and friends.

just returned from barbados, the pace of life is a lot slower there (if thats possible) the weather is a lot warmer this time of year. If I lived in trnc, and hope to one day, when I retire A bit young for that at the mo,I would miss the beautiful five finger mountains and the simple life style we seem to slip into so easily.
