A Sunderland fan is stopped from committing suicide by jumping off the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle by a Police officer. The officer asks what he is up too. He replies, "Chelsea have just beaten us two nought and life ain't worth living" The Policeman asks why he does not go and jump off the Wear bridge in Sunderland?............The Mackam replies ............"have you seen the length of the queue Man" Haway the Lads!

Hello Northernlad! Although my first love is Arsenal, Sunderland holds a special place in my heart too. I try not to moan about them, I still hold out hope that they will survive to fight another season in the Premiership. The reason for my affiliation stems from my brother-in-law who has been a season-ticket holding fan since forever and he has taken all his kids to their first match as very tiny babies! In the first season at the Stadium of Light, he was allowed to propose to my sister on the brand new scoreboard and I myself have spent several happy hours in the sports bar there as well as spending several pounds in the shop). It's a little scary if you happen to leave the stadium in the dark after a beer or two to see the giant black cats eyes glowing at you! So, yes there are Sunderland fans in NC - well me, sort of, anyway!

I have been a Sunderland supporter since the 60's but I am not living out in NC yet. Hope to within the next few years and it would be good to watch matches with like minded people. By then we will be challenging for the title.(You have to have dreams)
