Can anyone remember the details of the posting where a house was damaged by the dogs of the person who was renting the house? I am considering renting my villa to someone who has dogs and just want to make sure that it isn't the same person.

Thanks

Hi Simbas I know you are trying to help but wasn't that particularly thread moderated to remove the names of the people in question and wasn't a friend of theirs disputing the fact that any damage had been caused?

Simba it is against the rules to name people. Puppylover I believe resigned for that reason.

Hi Stewy , i do stand corrected but i didn't actually name the person , some other board member did i just copied and pasted it from the thread its there for all to see it has'nt been deleted . It's getting more and more difficult on this board at the moment to please anyone . But take alook at today's postings you will find more than a few names being mentioned

Loathe as I am to push this thread to the top again I wanted to question this assumption that it is against the rules to name names on this forum.

Nowhere in the rules does it say this. The closest any rule gets is number 8

Do not post member specific questions. Eg. "Who is LittleIzzet?" or "John please call me today as I am leaving home soon"

This I believe is to stop it being a private chat system.

Obviously having said this the rules of defamation apply to this forum as well as anywhere else so don't libel anyone!

If Gary Robb is found to be a paragon of virtue and the victim of misunderstanding etc then we are all in trouble!

Can I suggest a compromise?

The poster has the information he required so displaying the couples names no longer serves a purpose. With this in mind I have deleted their names as some members, that knew this particular couple, felt they had been wrongly accused. Hope this meets everyones needs.

I just think if moderators start naming names without knowing all the facts. It is like an endorsement by the forum that the parties were guilty. I think this is unfair and unjust.

Simbas is very sweet and seems a lovely lady. But. But. But. You know what I mean.
