I'm flying over to cyprus

I was just wondering if anybody knows if I can pick up a phone and sim card over there to use straight away to minimize call charges back to England?

Yes no problems but if your phone is unlocked to any network just buy a sim card.

You can but ideally, you should really make sure that your phone is unlocked although you can get it done in TRNC if it isn't.



Probably the best place to go is Lemar on the Girne to Lapta road you will need to take your passport with you. Alternatively you could go into the Turkcell office in Girne it is very close to the Lefkosa rondabout as you go towards Lapta, it is on the left.



I can't remember how much it is (But it's not a lot) and the price includes so much credit.

hi phil

like lovingcyprus has said

you can just pop down to lemar with your unlocked phone and your passport fill in the forms and sign, it cost 20ytl for a sim card and you get 100 free credits once you have put the sim card into the phone you have to register it dont worry you can choose the language to english within 24hours you will be able to use it, then all you do when you want to get more credits is go into any lemar, turkcell shop or market buy credits which start from 5ytl scratch the back off to reveal numbers phone 8090 and enter the digits into the phone then press # key, to find out how many credits you got left press *123# and then press send
