Hi, my friend's cat has been mising now for over a week. She lives on the beach side in Lapta. Her cat is a black, 1 yr old tom. he always wears a red collar with a bell & gold name barrel on it. He has had the snip & never usually wanders far from home. She is devastated & would be so grateful for any news (even if it is bad).

Many thanks.

I heard something similar about a tom cat then went walkabout for 3 weeks then turned up safe and sound. I hope the cat comes home soon. All the best.

My cat has also gone missing from Seaside Lapta neat the Sempati. She is a fully grey female and quite petite, she has been gone for nearly 3 weeks now. As she pulls her collars off I am wondering if someone has taken her to give her a new home thinking she was a stray cat.

Any information gratefully received.

Hi,

it was my cat that went missing. One of my Turkish Cypriot neighbours shouted me today to tell me that she had found him. He was in a half finished house very close to where I live. I was sceptical as I had searched the house & the pool & garden but I went along to look. Anyway, there he was, flung in the filthy, dirty green water of the pool. It looks like they have been poisoned & then flung in there. They definately weren't there when I looked. My neighbour managed to fish him out for me so I could bury him in my garden. The other cat was of medium size, darkish with stripes (I think, as they had been in there for a few weeks & were covered in green slime) Hope it is not also someone's beloved pet.

Really sorry for you and your poor cat. I know exactly how you feel, mine went missing and I found him 5 days later on the other side of our wall, he looked like his neck had been broken and he been flung against the wall.

How very sad.

:( That is terrible. I hope whomever did it falls into that pool and breaks their neck in the process. The same goes to other b******s who treat animals this way.

Mia, judging by the date of your posting in March last year, the other cat could have been mine. My dog was poisoned in the same area, bit further down from the Sempati and at the same time my tom cat went missing, who fits the description. Where exactly was the house with the pool where you found them? We have moved since and I was hoping he hadn`t gone on a jolly and come back weeks later to find we`d gone.

If you send photo's of missing pets to izzet@cyprus44.co he can post them for you, so everyone can see your pet.

oh I am so sorry. I know how I would feel. It is so distressing for the cats, so upsetting for their owners and so bloody unnecessary.

My deepest sympathies to all of you. As animal lovers ourselves, we find it very difficult to believe people can act like this.

Agree with LeylaS - hope the same thing happens to the b....rds that did this.

Amber. It was very late last night I saw the posting and I misread the date, so it probably was not my cat. Thanks for pointing that out. He disappeared the day my dog was poisoned when some vile person laid spam laced with lanate outside every gate in our road, so its obvious he had some of it and went off to die somewhere. This was last spring.

Thanks so much everyone. I just hope that what goes around, comes around.

I think it is a good idea to post pics of pets. That way, if someone does see a pet, they can check against the pics.

Sheilabee,

I am so sorry that happened to your dog and cat. What is wrong with these evil people. Did many animals get killed in your road last year? Our friends dog died last month, poisoned meat thrown into their garden. This is just devastating.
