A golfing pal in the UK has read that the course at the new Korenium Golf Club in Esentepe is taking time to 'green' over properly. As I'm no golfer, has anyone played a round recently and can give a better judgement on the state of play than my original reply - "It looks green in Izzet's photo on his blog" ?!

Yeah I heard the same thing from a few people playing there.

I actually have a air photograph taken last week that shows exactly the green part and the brown part (soil without grass). I'll upload soon.

There was a rumor today (when I went to shoot some balls at the driving range) that the owner of the golf course wants to sell the golf course after some time, possibly 2-3 years. Interesting ha?

Played today the course is getting better and better every time we play. The greens are knitting together well and the fairways are looking good.

The course is playing really well and the greens are getting better but you have to understand the course is a new one and it will take time to mature, however on the evidence of the few people I have seen playing the course (I go over 3/4 times weekly) it is going to suffer considerable damage if the pitch marks and divots are not properly repaired/replaced.

The course needs a ranger who can keep control and educate the people who are joining and taking up the game.

The course also needs more members who are willing to help to ensure it's success or it will be in danger of becoming just another country club with an under used golf club attached

I definitely agree with you Bill.

I only play the academy and everytime I go, the area where you first shoot the ball is more and more damaged.

A ranger is a must.

Hi everyone

If you type in Esentepe Golf course you can get into their website and it shows all the fees there. I;m not a golfer so not sure of the right terminology! Hope that helps anyway! We bought a property over the road!
