I thought i would just be a little more positive about Cyprus and list some things to do other than sit in front of the Screen.

Clay Shooting each week Shooting ground near Lapta.

Carp and Catfish fishing arranged even if you do not have your equipment.

Karting at 2 top circuits 1 FIA registered. Either arrive and drive organise an event or purchase and race with all the other locals with a chance to race in Italy

Various rallying events hold throughout cyprus

World Rally championship to be held here around March.

Locally run Pool teams from most watering holes for the few of us who like a beer.

Horse riding for all levels.

Golf on a new course to international standards.

Various gyms to get rid of the over consumption of beer.

The list could go on, I think this is a sign of a positive place with plenty to do and if you need a reality check try calling some friends in the UK and listen to how bad it is financially. Without thhinking of the weather.

Andysue,

I will bow to your knowledge of fishing in the TRNC i have never found so much as a puddle while i have been there. I would fish waggler up in the water for the carp firing corn over the top unless you can buy pellets in the TRNC or surface fish chum mixers. For the catfish large halibut pellets are the top bait i would only expect to see catfish in a water that has some depth in it, not sure about the water levels in the TRNC. Mrwilson says he has info from a leaflet from the fez,Whats the fez?.......

steve thanks for that, the fez is a ex-pats eating and drinking hole (catlakoy i think opposite hot chick) very good meals too! i will be going there for a t-bone when over at easter, go and have a meal at the fez and see what you find out. there are fresh water lakes in north cyprus the one i know is spring fed and levels stay constant all year, its sollid, the carp jump clean out of the water. ive also seen a shoal of fish over ten pound.

Dear Nick, did you get out of bed on the wrong side? ..... for last 12 months?

Just pulled my head out of the polluted Blackpool beach - they just shifted Riverdance as well ....

Dont go down to Blackpool at any time .... people only drop litter 3 times ....

.... morning,noon and night.....

..... did I mention they dont have enough litter bins for all the litter louts ....

.... but never mind, cos you wont be able to park, and thats if you get through the speed cameras ... more here than the whole of Cyprus.

God,I feel better after that negative blast.beemeyupnik

Sorry for the delay with the fishing details i am aiming to get the brochure tonight and i will post all info.

I have been to one of the lakes so here goes with the poor directions.

If you come from Girne and head towards Esentepe as you come to the Acupulco Casino about another 1/2 mile on the right there is a turning opposite a restaurant (sorry dont know the name) It is the only one on the left side of the road. Take this track to the right and follow it down past your usual piles of rubbish and it will then climb steeply, Park at the bottom and walk the last 100 yards. There is a large lake here.

I will post all other info tomorrow.
