Hello to all,

We shall be over in about six week's or so and would appreciate any help you may be able to offer in locating where we can get the following items..

We will be looking for dining table and chairs, bedside lamps, light shades, crockery, pots, pans, cutlery, electric kettle and other electrical kitchen ware, soft furnishings, rugs and if we have the time maybe some garden furniture.

We would also like any advise you may have regarding TVs, we do not intend to buy the TV this trip would like to compare prices/deals etc.

Thanks in advance to all.

Regards,

Alex & Linda.

Hi Alex & Linda

With regards to a TV, we bought a TV in the UK kept it boxed & took it in our suitcase. A 17 inch flat screen fits quite well in a case, a cheaper alternative to buying in the TRNC.

Looking to buy similar ourselves, but also some of the bigger items such as beds and sofas. Has anyone bought from the Toros centers, and would you reccomend them?

Fingers....we use Toros in Lefkosia.

No problems with our sofas and beds....not so happy with the blinds and curtains we had them make.

Olgun do nice, reasonably priced contemporary sofas but unless they have what you want in stock it will take about 12 weeks for delivery. The shop is in Karakum.

A word of warning if you use Homefront. Make sure they write everything down exactly as you want it as in our experience you won't get what you asked for. We have eventually ended up with what we wanted and we are happy but it took nearly 4 months for 2 sofas that we were told would take 2 weeks.

Hi, I have just returned, I was advised to buy "Beko" ( TV ) in the UK if planning to ship....as Beko is a well known make in the Uk and can easily be repaired..also any gtee should also be valid.

stewart

i know white goods purchased here come with a three year guarantee.

beko only give a one year in the uk.

i'm not sure they would honour it here though.

i will say we got our aircon units from beko and they have been very good, especially when one developed a problem. they do have good customer service skills.

i'm not sure regarding tv's , i think the wicks had the best idea!

If you are looking for garden furniture Hamak near Lemar in Karaoglanoglu is having a closing down sale. I've never been in there but I think it is mostly teak and the plastic rattan type furniture that they sell.

It is in Karaoglanoglu near to Lemar. If you were across the road looking at Lemar, next door (to the right) is Burger City, then Pegasos then Hamak is in the parade of shops next to that.

I'll try and find it on a map, I don't want to have to try and ask anybody were Karaoglanoglu is, my Welsh isn't that good.

I think the sunbed was about 280 Euros. It also needs cushions and i dont think it is very good when you sit on it.

They do have an amazing outdoor sofa with overhead canopy 1150 Euros. 1 left.
