Oh great...I'll look forward to that.

Out of interest, where do you get your Showtime from? I'm wondering if I can get it from anywhere other than the bloke in Alsancak. I'm due for renewal soon and he's hiked the price up again.

Cheers.

I`m telling the "bloke" in Alsancak to go forth and multiply when ours is up for renewal, its been nothing but trouble from day 1 and has he done anything about it? You know the answer without me telling you. We should have had a new box last July and are still waiting. At least three times during viewing time it either freezes or we get a beautiful green screen. It has to be turned off at the wall and then back on again to get it back. If you find somewhere better it would be nice to know. W

Can I refer you to my earlier post:-

about Uran in Lefkosa.

Mine has gone wrong once (due to lightning) - they came the next day and fixed it in 10 minutes.

Thanks JJ. I'll look into it.

I have to say that our service has been very good, but the price hikes 2 years on the trot are not insignificant, and last year he didn't actually tell me my renewal was due, he just switched me off.

Two weeks after taking my money I finally got switched back on again! That was after dozens of phone calls and numerous journeys back and forth his shop for "card testing" all the way from Catalkoy. Just can't be doing with it if you know what I mean.

Dear JJ re msg 5

Glad you brought up that thread.. I was hoping your contact could answer my msg 7/8

If you receiver is NOT using a Showtime card - it is illegal and you will have no recourse to "whinge" at a "pirate" who is taking your money and will disappear when the card sharing is "blocked" ..

It will be interesting to see how posters feel about their "showtime" and much more -if they are a card sharing "pirates" client - in a years time....

Dear Geoffn

sure.. it pirates pay tv broadcasted on Hotbird and Nilesat ( names of satellites) channels and broadcasts the de-encryption via a third dish pointed at at a third satellite

but not for much longer...

Dopi "appears" legit, and some contributors on here are even taken in by the legitimacy....

Hi Whistler

Can I ask what you pay Cold in Alsancak? as we are with them as well and last year they hiked the price up and we are due renewal in a couple of weeks, unsure as to whether we should move elsewhere if they are upping the price again.

Last April when we had initial installation we paid 170gbp for installation (we already had a dish) and 380gbp for the years viewing. Like you we are due for renewal and no doubt it will cost more. However, it`s not so much the cost if it would work ok, but we have had rubbish service (lack of) no feedback at all from them. Say they will come and they do not. As stated in earlier post, should have had a new box last July but we are still struggling with the old one, it freezes up on a regular basis, the screen goes blank and green.

We are not going to renew and I shall tell him why.

rsalih - Used to have Digiturk but there were so many repeats. Seem to be getting that with Nilestat now though, so am considering going back to Digiturk.
