Hi Jacko

Depends on what you are looking for, plastic, metal or wooden. There are many places springing up on both sides of Kyrenia, and from experience prices vary.

Plastic is cheaper but doesn't last long as the heat of the sun makes it brittle so will only last maybe a maximum of 2 years.

Plastic covered metal will rust but should last a bit longer than plastic.

Wooden is much better but also more expensive and needs regular treatment with a wood preservative.

Sorry I didn't really answer your original question but as I said it depends on what you want.

I bought wrought iron sun loungers and table from Fiskos. Probably next year will give them a coat of hammerite paint which lasts longer.

Sorry karen and Stevie forgot to say i was looking for the wrought iron range or wood never liked the plastic range in the UK as it weathers as you rightly say. Stevie-d you say you bough yours from Fiskos do they have a web site to have a look at?

having lived in the middle east for a large number of years where the weather is harsher than Cyprus I Istrongly recommend wood and preferably made from locally processed wood. With a little treatment every year or two it will last as long as you want.

I have taken my own advice in TRNC by the way

The best advice I can give is to try and put out of your mind completely how much a good set would cost you in the UK at B&Q,Homebase,Argos etc.

Because you can bet your life that whatever you choose in NC will cost 2-3 times more than the comparable set in the UK.

But you're not in the UK...you're in NC...so just bite the bullet and open your wallet !

We have friends who have bought a lovely concrete table!!!

There is a lady who sells them on the turning from Iskele to Mehmetchik. She puts polished stone and glass in them and will make up any design. I have seen some in Kyrinia but one as nice as hers. They have a concrete base aswell. They can be left outside all year round and nobody will pinch them!

Dont need as much looking after and I was very impressed when I saw them. Dont cost too much either.

If you send me your email address I will send you a photo of our friends. I would put it on here but I dont know how to.

Would she deliver to Alsancak or do you have to collect it yourself? (Incidentally I can't access your e-mail address).
