Just been doing a little research before the season starts!apart from the avon lotion, and have lots of sweet basil plated, have read it is better to wear light/white clothes.

Anyone any other suggestions?

Mike,

1. Keep out of your garden.

2. Get a bird (pref oriental).

3. When you have a bird, you won't want to go into the garden.

There problem solved...

Or you could use 'OFF' from most supermarkets and pharmacies.

Get an Electric Tennis bat and turn them into a sport. Great fun watching them sizzle.

Hi all,

Take one vitimin B complex a day. The mozzies don't like the smell, since I started taking them I don't get bitten and also have more energy.

I agree it is not a frivolous subject mozzie bites can be very serious if they get infected. Last year I had a bite, possibly a sandfly and it became so bad I ended up in hospital having an operation to cut out the infection. It was 12 weeks before it healed. On my next visit to Cyprus it happened again but I went to the hospital straight away and they were able to deal with it under a local and very strong antibiotics. I am now left with 2 large scars! from the first bite. I have taken every precaution I can think of including vitamin B , garlic tablets, Skin So Soft Bath oil and insect repellants with very high deet. I also spray all rooms and have mozzie screens.

I bought some "sticky insect traps"from £ shop.Up for 24 hours and black with little flies. Not sure make of fly, doesn't say for mozzies, but claims reflects light at a wavelength pests find irresistable.

Pack of 6 for 4tl.

Mike.

According to a friend of mine who is a homeopath, yeast tablets should work really well. Apparently it has to do with your sweat and the sweat you give off. Hope this is of some help.

I say it every year, so I will say it again this year.

The only thing that keeps bugs away - but not all of them - is a very high concentrate of DEET!

Best I have found is VAPE Herbal, now that product is 90% DEET, anymore more than that would probably be toxic!

Like every other product, it depends upon you and what "Smell" and "Heat" you give off to attract the little blighters. The only positive way is to squash em!

Sheila. Welcome to the marmite club. I too have marmite every day and have done most of my life (addict I think). I do get bitten but not that badly.

Dink Raki and lemon juice and a lot of garlic with your food and smoother yourself with Vape Herbal - nobody will want to get near you and you might be too drunk to notice if you do get bitten -

It is your atitude thats what counts !

Lovely good new suggestions.Hopefully should have less mozzies this year.

More serious problem. How do you stop Negative Nick making so many crass replies to so many forums? He's such a pain in the ar*e.A bored little f*rt.

I am reluctant to post serious forums because of his inane stupid remarks.

I'll eat garlic, even eat marmite if it keeps him away.

I wonder if the locals ever get bothered by mosquitoes or are they just immune? If no I wonder what they use?
