As you all know we were attacked as well and they have managed to destroy the whole site, we will not be beaten by these scumbags so the new villa owners can be found here

http://www.phpbb88.com/trncvillaowners/

Please take the time to register and show that we wont be beaten.

Hi,

I have been unable to access the cyprus44 website for the last few days. Was there some kind of cyber attack on it?

Teresa, Ismet, Nige.. Whilst I think the folk that did this are STUPID, and do the cause of those hoping to see some reconciliation - too many of you seem to have lost a sense of proportion ..

They - or their parents / grandparents lost their lives / homes and their worlds were turned upside down - they lost more that a website... There were many pro rapproachment GCs and TCs turned into "hardliners" by the events of 74..

Many of you seem to THINK the passage of time makes it "all right" - it doesn't..

The Apostolides action against the Orams will have more of an effect than you can imagine - but may be not in the way most of us think..

Hang on a cotton picking minute Border...I'm sick to death of hearing about how the gc's have suffered, they brought about their own suffering, you seem to overlook this on a regular basis...ethnic cleansing comes with a price tag and the tc's lost a hell of lot more than the gc's...quite frankly I don't give a flying fig for their crocodile tears..

Mark i might be having a blonde moment here but tell me what do they hope to gain by hacking into these 2 sites, if that is the mentality of these people that want peace then i think the 2 presidents are just wasting their time talking.

mark

the people who 'did this' are not 'STUPID'.

They are criminals under International and especially EU Law. Something I know you respect.

You seem to be suggesting that internet hacking is acceptable within the boundaries of the ongoing Cyprus dispute.

What other 'Illegal' actions do you consider to be acceptable?

I remember many murders and atrocities in NI that were being defended as being acceptable by the parties involved.

You seem to have a very weak grasp of what is a crime and what is not.

In away what happened with the sites made me listen to the GC views and yes those bitter and twisted view from the British I have never heard so much S..t come out of so many mouth as I read from the other forum. The GC have a right to their opinion but those brits in the south well I suppose they have ran from there home country and as brits fell they must have their points heard were ever they go it a pity. O yes tried to re-register with TRNC villa forum but it failed will try again later.

Muzer dont you think it is worse when the Brits from this side have to go onto these forums and attack us, i am thinking of 1 called Firestarter who has done nothing but slag us off on that forum and yet they are happy to live here in the North and take money from the very people they are accusing of being theives, i am sure in law that makes them just as guilty. Oh yes and another point while i am on the subject that same person is happy to use both this board and the villa owners board to tout for business.

6m; give it up mate, your Irish neutrality not withstanding get it in your head; if you start a war and lose then don`t whine when to the victor goes the spoils.

Re: message 6

Why is it that mmm and the other GC apologists always start with 1974.

Today I sat with an old TC who I have known for 3 years and he told me about his life. Born and bred in Karsiyaka he and the other 30 or so TC families were first seriously attacked by their GC neighbours in 1956. 2 coachloads of GC men came from a beach party with staves and iron bars and hunted down the TCs - it was repeated many times. In 1964 the TC families (less 3 dead) escaped from Karsiyaka along the mountain slopes and he lived in a tent with his wife and 2 young children until 1972 on the mountainside near Karmi. All their properties and land were occupied by GCs. In 1972 he managed to get some breeze blocks and build a low wall so it could no longer properly be called a tent. Throughout this the British Forces kept his job open at Akrotiri but he was too frightened to go to work.

1974 was the end of his troubles not the beginning. He cried while he talked but he has no hatred.

JovialJohn Msg6,absolutely spot on.Those people were obviously hounded out of their rightful homes, and some GC called is "his" in 1974! There appears to be one rule for them(EU club I suppose)and one rule for the TRNC. Melitides Apostolides' parents were the owners of the "shack on scrub land" that all this is about.....why not ask them if they want to move back?

Teresa, re msg 10

I'm surprised you have to ask WHY they did it.. it is their way of "getting at " folk who they don't respect - who they feel have houses on their family land - Does that make it right - Nope - and they must respect the law.

re msg 11 RobnJo

"You seem to be suggesting that internet hacking is acceptable within the boundaries of the ongoing Cyprus dispute."

Nope - I offered an explanation for their behaviour - not an excuse.

"I remember many murders and atrocities in NI that were being defended as being acceptable by the parties involved. You seem to have a very weak grasp of what is a crime and what is not. "

You have an INCREDIBLY short memory..and demonstrate your usual lack of history.. The people of Ireland - north and south - voted - after a great deal of heartache and deep thought - to draw a line in the sand. YES, we might well have folk in govt that murdered or ordered murders.. NOT GOOD, but it was a sacrifice for the future..

Lilli, re msg 12

Would you not agree to force innocent folk from their home - folk who had just fought and may be lost relatives in a crazy coup - encouraged by the CIA - only to find another country invading your land? you had never harmed a TC - you had TC friends - but you had to run for your life , too.

Far worse crimes happened in the sixties and seventies and folk from Britain buying on disrupted land in a country that doesn't exist officially are just looking for someone to blame - rather than looking at their own navels..

Dear JJ re msg 6

"Why is it that mmm and the other GC apologists always start with 1974. "

YAWN

1/ Kindly stop misquoting me... I am WELL aware of CY shenanigans in the fifties by both Right wing GCs with Greek support AND right wing TCs whose aim was TAKSIM - division.. IF you bothered to check - I am often putting people like you - who obviously DON'T read posts, properly - straight - you just joined the queue...

2/ Don't confuse my wishes for an equitable solution with being a "GC apologist" - If I quote from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Website re the warning s re property purchasing in CY - would that mean our govt is biased, too?

3/ I wanted and campaigned in the "south" for a GC YES ,and was called a "Turk lover"... more than once.. so dealing with ignorance comes easy..

mmmmmm - Your comments are surprising when you read about the reason for the invasion by Turkey. Had there been no support from Turkey I wonder where the TC would be now. The southern part of Cyprus should never have been given EU status until the issues which forced Turkey to intervene had been resolved between TC and GC

Had there been no help from other countries, by foreigners buying properties in NC, the TC would still be living a third world existence. The foreigners have given NC extra revenue and from their research and not just listening to the biased press who do not want to do any research, given them support.

Dear Isabella,

you are relatively new to the forum.

Did you know that the Greek Junta inspired Military Coup and invasion of Cyprus (and how far the TR army could push) was all pre-arranged by the CIA - anxious to ensure Divsion - hence the continuity of the Uk military bases? !! They played both ethnicities off against each other...

Even IF TR had the right to intervene - which it didn't -as the UN was mandated by Greece and Turkey to be the peace- keepers - yet both sides armed Cypriots - they had no right to remain, and "create" "TRNC" - which has allowed GCs to hold the legal upper hand over TCs.

I supposed the UK, the EU and UN are all biased, too ?

Could you please quote the biased press item you refer to - from any source outside GR or TR or Cyprus and we can discuss the article.

Sorry, but I rather think it might be YOU that need to do some research

Okay I don't post often on here and wasn't a member of the previous TRNC villa owners board but agree that as many people should join as possible to show the GC's that we're all still here. Slight problem though just tried registering and it kept saying hadn't put in the confirmation code correctly. I know I'm not the best typist but fairly certain I was getting it right each time. Anyone any ideas what may have gone wrong.

TRNCtravellor the confirmation code is case sensitive so watch for the capitals. Once you have registered you will receive an email with an activation link so check you junk folder in case it goes in there.

""You have an INCREDIBLY short memory..and demonstrate your usual lack of history..""

You get 10 out of 10 for wild assumptions! As usual.

I've visited NI, business & pleasure, for over 40 yrs. I've seen and experienced a lot, including only missing a Hotel bombing due to a cancelled flight.

Despite the 'Peace', there is still endemic Sectarianism. Over 90% of schools are strongly Sectarian, Belfast still has 'walled' no-go enclaves and rural areas have similar problems.

Sectarian violence and abuse is still rife on a day to day basis.

There is little indication that these problems will be resolved for generations.

If you think this is the type of 'Peaceful Reconciliation' you would like Cyprus to adopt,....

God help us all.

We were attacked along with many other TRNC boards just after the Oram's decision

We are now back and running on a new site at

When re-registering, please ensure your type the comfirmation code exactly as written, i.e normally in UPPERCASE

Also, anyone who has registered, but has been unable to log on, please try again now (sorry , a few teething troubles)
