Note what the FM said - "Turkey, every time, from events in the past and from now, in every process, will support northern Cyprus and Turkish Cypriots. I promise this and also salute our every Turkish Cypriot brother in the name of Turkish people," Davutoğlu said.

No mention of Brits in his statement. :(

Can we not have a property free day were all talk of unification and the property issues are banned. Opens a can of worms and this thread will be full of insults and bull**it by the end of the day its getting boring and depressing...... Lets talk about the weather instead

Don't bury your head in the sand!

My medium term plan is to move to the TRNC around the end of next year after a prolonged visit of a couple of months first. I value the comments and opinions (I can read between the lines and ignore the bull**it) I read here, they help me begin to understand what the ex-pats already living there feel and think. Threads like this, and others about renting opposed to buying etc etc are of real interest for me.

For what its worth, the Orams case has raised the issue to a new level in the UK. Most people are now aware of it and I've even been asked for my (very limited) opinion in my local!

You know what Paul, the more I think about this the more I think a deal has been done. I think the reason why the talks are dragging on and on is because they are waiting for the UK court to give their decision sometime in September / October. The recent decision with the Orams has given the south a lift. Talat knows he's on the back foot. Cyprus needs it's probelms resolved and this is the last time for everyone to sort it out.

The talks will finish not long after the UK court gives it's decision.

I have varying opinions on it all. I think the south just want to stall the talks so they hinder Turkeys EU application, but then again I wonder if Turkey do really want to join the EU.

I also find the input America are having interesting.

Paul - now we are all wondering what this meeting is about - give us a clue ?!
