On my way back from Kyrenia I am stopping at Istanbul for 4 days. Should I get my duty free in ercan or istanbul, is there a price difference??

Thanks again

Prices are doubled in TRNC duty free, especially perfumes. Definately buy at Istanbul !

you cannot take booze from Ercan home in hand luggage once you have gone through customs in Istanbul. If you stay airside in transit then you can take duty free booze in hand luggage having been through security at Ercan

I thought you couldnt take any liquids through in hand luggage not just ercan there ae restrictions re quantity at every airport. If you buy stuff in local shops wrap any drinks in towles in the cases always works for me. The bottles have never broken if they do just suck

I was shocked at the prices at Antalya airport Duty Free a month ago. Baileys was more expensive then Sainsburys and the cigarettes were cheaper on the plane (£34 for 400). The duty free shops were empty, the only place I saw someone buying was the cigar shop. Even the restaurants and bars were devoid of customers as the prices were horrendous. When will these places learn?
