thank you to some of you unfriendly bitter people you have saved us a lot of money by not moveing here after all. some of you and you know who you are are so clicky and set in your ways i actually can not believe that this is meant to be a forum for helping people move over there insted it scares people of. i think that you lot think the more people that move over the less important you will feel.

Never give up on what you want..we keep our selves to our selves and keep with like minded people.one learns who to belive and class as friend and who to keep quiet with,perhaps your both much too young to have be able to do this,

hi mixe, we had threats on the forum and also on E-mail the ones on E-mail are in the hands of the police over here and the person will be found. when the lives of my wife and children are threatened then i fight back. we are not to young to do anything as statted above, i am retired for a reason and after the life we have had we can do anything. been told to pick friends wisley on the forum i think you should all be carful of whom you are aa talking to on the forum, and i can confirm it was not from the south the E-mail.

I sympathise but not much ! If you have taken all of your advice and feel for the place from 1 forum, then maybe you are going about it in the wrong way. Forums are open and should be so, but if you are not used to it, they can also be used by people who do not promote the best open and positive discussion.

What I mean is many who use this forum know that people like you are willing to come to TRNC and make a usefull and positive life, but because of there own experiences they do not want to encourage that.

Mixe. i own enough properties to keep us good for the rest of our lives, we have a internet firm that is doing fine and we dont need to be there for any of them, we wanted i quiter life in Cyprus, with Kim nearly dying at such a young age having 2 strokes. but i am not prepaired to do anything that will endanger the life of my family they are the most precious part of my life and thats all that matters, i can see alot of the users on the forum are really nice but family comes first.

I dont want to sound rude so please dont take my comments that way.



Firstly you have came on here and asked peoples advice on moving to North Cyprus many have been realistic with what they have told you and pointed out potential pitfalls. It is not all sweetness and light and many on these and other forums wish that there were some people about 4/6 years ago to point out some of the bad things in the TRNC.



Secondly when we moved over we done our best to integrate into the local community and not the ex-pat community in fact it was a fun way of us learning Turkish.



You have to ask yourself your reasons for moving to North Cyprus and make sure it ticks all the boxes.

AJ, we picked up our Keys the other day, we are here now and it is great, funny how when we are out socialising with both expats and locals we never get any of the negatives we see on the board from some quarters. Life is good in the TRNC

Kim & Neil, very best wishes for the future but why don't you all come over for a holiday & see the place for yourselves, get a feel for the place & then decide.



We have to wear hard hats to buy in TRNC even on pre 74 land, which is why we don't generally give away too many details about ourselves as this is a public forum.



I used to run a TRNC website & I too have been subject to threats and abuse, you have to rise above it & liken it to roadrage, when people are anonymous,(like when they are behind the wheel of a car) they get brave.



You must do what you think is best for your family of course, come over & experience the place as a family & see what you think.



Apart from a few individuals, all we were trying to do is warn of the potential pitfalls as we have all experienced them ourselves one way or another.

Kim and Neil,

I completely understand what you are saying as I have been a little dejected at times by a few of the comments I have recieved but in all honesty, as Fairy has previously stated Forums are and need to be open. I believe that the answers some people have given are not meant to be negative but enlightening and having just returned after my first visit I thought that everyone we met were extremely nice and the advice we recieved was fantastic.

I have fortunately not recieved anything vicious in personal mail but would probably feel the same as you if I had, may justice prevail.

I hope that the future works out to be much better for you whatever your choices may be and I hope that Kim leads a healthy and happy life.

Not strange at all if the police are involved and are trying to track the culprit, leaves the oppurtunity for more people to get caught and on the flipside, the oppurtunity for those who might have written in error to apologise personally, but its like everything else on the forum, personal choice.

we do know already from the police that address is that the one that sent the E-mail used i knew and bogus account also uses the same pc for the forum under a different name so be aware, they know who they are

I find this quite mind boggling, first, why have you received these death threats? How many people join this and many other forums to ask questions about the place and nothing is publicised like this.

Also I think we should know the source so as to guard against any future trouble.
