Hi ,
Yes there is a new supremarket open now , it is called sarac 3 and belongs to the people who already run two markets in Esentepe, really nice people, and the prices are good and you can get your gas there too it is on Turtle bay site opposite the play park - dont know the exact opening times yet but will check

I agree with Glencoe the people who run the two shops in Esentepe are really nice. If the shop at TBV is anything like the large one in Esentepe then they carry most of the items you need. We rarely have the need to go to Supreme/Lemar any more.

Isn't Turtle Bay a gated complex?
Does the man at the gate check whether you are residents, or will he pass anyone who wants to go shopping?

Yes it is gated but they will let you in if you want to use the supermarket - no point in having a gate really!

Hi all,
there is a gateman but there is no restriction on getting in or out, the gate also serves Turquoise bay at present and that is where the new King's bar is located, and hopefully Glencoecyprus new office if we can get Hussein the developer to finish it for us

Hi Img
Why? I would imagine a lot of the places in TBV will be rented out so what is the difference. Crime is very low in Cyprus. To be honest the gates are there purely to stop the sheep/goats entering the property and eating the plants rather than keeping out people.

Well said Karen
Also the gate is shared by Turtle bay and Turquoise bay at present.
In tandem with the supermarket it is planned to have various establishments offering other facilities as well, probably a hairdresser/barber, restaurant etc. and there is already a pub on site, and if we get the lease our office will be next to the pub, we will be offering insurance, car hire, airport transfers, boat trip bookings, etc. as well as our core business of property and pool maintenance and management.

So much for the gates stopping sheep/goats - they still get in anyway!!!!! We have photos on our owners forum with the sheep drinking from the swimming pools!!!!
I have to say I am not sure a lot of the other owners realise the gate is shared with us TBV owners and Turqouise Bay - as it has never been mentioned to any of us. I only read it not that long ago and asked our management company who said yes. I was a bit cross to be honest because we have tennis courts that we pay for and my concern was - why are we paying maintenance costs for the upkeep of these tennis courts if anyone is going to use them. Anyway they are going to be padlocked by our management company for sole use of TBV owners.
I think its probably a good idea the supermarket is used by the public otherwise it wouldnt survive and we do need a supermarket on site so we have to go with it - even though it would be nice to be private.
We will hopefully have a restaurant eventually and I believe this is going to be a public restaurant too - for reasons as said about the supermarket - it wouldnt survive I dont think with just TBV owners going there.
The childrens play area and other facilities wont be shared by others - how they will police that who knows!

Hi BHW
We get the same problems with sheep/goats. Our local shepherd has three goats, one of which is heavily pregnant and the other week whilst I was talking to the shepherd the pregnant goat walked up to our gate pressed her body against it and managed to slide the gate back enough for her to come in and eat most of my jasmine before we saw her. She wasn't interested in the Oleander though.

Hello BHW,
dinnae be so selfish woman, your people are currently flocking in their droves to the Kings bar on TURQUOISE bay and they are not complaining, and no doubt when the other Turquoise bay facilities (pitch & putt & water sports) are up and running T will want to utilise them as well

Sorry Glencoe but when our management company are putting maintenance fees up I think I have every right to sound a wee bit selfish!!!! After all would you like your facilities being used by anyone - things getting damaged and you ending up paying for it! Sorry to sound so flippant but there is a lot going on with maintenance fees that we arent happy about. I am not saying the restaurant/bar and supermarket wont be used by the public - after all it will need the public to keep it going - bit like the bar at Turquoise Bay but Turquoise Bay residents wouldnt appreciate us using their pools/tennis courts/pitch and putt whilst the residents are paying to upkeep them!
Glencoe - where will you be running your water sports from?? Are Turquoise Bay residents paying to clear up the beach there?

Hi BHW,
As I cant join you, please let me say - Turtle and Turquoise are joined at the hip so to speak unless you put a fence down the middle of the road as Kings bar is on the right side going East (Turquoise) and DIRECTLY over the road are Turtle bay apartments, it is impossible to seperate them, the facilities will undoubtedly (with the exception of possibly the tennis and basketball courts) be shared by one and all, it would be a very brave person who would say to someone with kids on Turquoise bay who were sharing the play park with kids from Turtle that they couldn't use the facility
I realise the people of Turtle have an issue with the Management company and I would also be livid if being charged prices like they are quoting, however there are other options, (I will e-mail you off board)
I am not running water sports at Turquoise but I know of someone who may be and the developers of Turquoise are doing the beach clean up, and most likely (tongue in cheek) Turtle bay people might just sneak on and use the facilities.
LOL

Hey that sounds great!!! I don't live on either, but I might just have to pop in to Sarac 3 for a loaf of bread to build up my strength for the weights at the outside gym, then a quick game of outdoor Chess, followed swiftly by a refreshing pint at the Kings...........Not forgetting of course my swimmers, beach towel, putter and tennis racquet too!! Can't wait to get back over LOL.

Got to admit i would not be a happy bunny if i were paying maintenence at Turtle bay for anyone other than owners to use the facilities , this surley should be down to management to not allow outside users to use there facilities . With reference to Turquoise bay , at present as soon as you enter the manned gate you keep to you're right in order to get to Turquoise bay complex , however there is an entrance soley for Turquoise bay a little furthur on which may be the intention of the Turquoise bay developers to be used when all building works have been completed , let us hope so as there could be a lot of congestion of traffic going into the busier period .

Hi Pipie,
Me thinks it will be very very hard in fact almost impossible, for any management company to police a site the size of Turtle bay and to stop all outsiders using the ungated facilities opposite the supermarket, because as is more than likely there will be many many other people other than owners on site at any given time, EG people letting their properties or having friends out, surely OWNERS would expect their clients or friends to be allowed to use the facilities, If the Turtle bay owners are suggesting "owners only" to the management company then I can maybe understand why the management fees are going up so sharply to help to police this, however in reality I do not think this is the case

Glencoe - we will be paying the maintenance/management costs at all times so therefore when we have guests staying we have therefore paid our maintenance for them to use these facilities. If these people walk in off the streets who is paying for their facilities?............unless of course you would like to pay seeing as you seem intent on winding this conversation up even more!
Dont you run your own Maintenance/Management Company? Is this the way you would like people to treat any sites you work on?? All your hard work and effort to get the place looking nice and anyone use it! If it does end up looking like we will be sharing facilities I will most definitely make sure our noisy young boys and some of our friends and their kids and neighbours on TBV and their kids all pile down to Turquoise Bay and hopefully they wont make too much noise!!! But then what do you expect of young boys who like to bomb in the pools and scream and shout!!!!!! Hopefully you wont be sitting next to the pool enjoying a cold beer LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi re message 36 . we stayed at the Acapulco a number of times , and as you know this is a massive hotel with conferances going on all the time , coulpled up with non residents wishing to use the hotel's facilities and also non residents wishing to use the casino. The manned gate have no trouble whats so ever ensuring that residents just go through and non residents are stopped and the visitors who are wanting to use the facilities are charged a daily ticket (usually locals ) so it can be manned effeciently . As for Turtle bay and Torquoise bay using each others facilities could this be doubtful as they seem to have the same facilities except an indoor swimming pool that is on the Torquoise bay complex . Just my thoughts

I am also a ower at TBV and also raise concerns that any Tom, Dick or Harry thinks that they can use our factilities (gym, mini golf, playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, pools) as they please. We the owners pay each month for maintenace and apartment cleaning packages so that if we do rent out to others we have paid for that privilege. So we are paying for others to use the site for free -----------I Dont think so Why should we pay for upkeep, replacing any equipment for others who are not staying or renting on our site????? It was NOT in my contract that these factilites would be shared and I will be taking this up with the current Management Company. As well as notifying our TBV Forum of this. I too have 2 kids and will take up with Boredhousewife to accompy her to the Turquoise Bay for playtime.

Hi Nicky and Pipie,
Nicky
I think your criticism of my post number 36 is really unfair, if you read post 34 first - properly you will see that Pipie said "quote" I would not be a happy bunny if I were paying maintenance at Turtle bay for anyone other than OWNERS to use the facility, "unquote" I merely pointed out that it would be near impossible to police in that case as a lot of OWNERS would be trying to make some income by letting out their properties and therefore these people were not owners but gusets, and where do you draw the line, say if owners/guests invite their friends down for an afternoon at the poolside - I could go on and on but surely you get my point, I was not trying to be nasty in any way.
And if you read my last 11 words i said "in reality I did not think that was the case"
And your personal attack on me and my company was really unwarranted, with all your !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and why on earth do you think I have something to do with Turquoise bay, I dont honest, I was just looking at office facilities there LOL
now can I please get my head back
LOL

Greg I really dont want to talk about this anymore. It is a sensitive subject which I dont think a lot of the owners are aware yet and I dont intend on telling them - others have enough worries regarding other issues. This was my concern and I felt I was being wound up! You dont mess with a woman with PMT!!!!!!!!!!! I really dont want to discuss it any further. I have passed my comments onto our management company. They are aware of how I feel. I know I wont be the only one who wont want to pay for others using our site. I do see your point and its a valid one. Its just a shame this whole complex couldnt be solely for owners but the supermarket and eventually the restaurant wont survive all year round without the public going in. P.S. I like my !!!!!!!!!!!!!! - dont take it personally!

Hi Phylray
Did you mean to post your advert in this section. I think you may be better off placing it under a separate topic heading as it might be overlooked on this topic.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks for pointing out Karen, I guess this topic started about supermarket but goes onto diff. subject.
Mini-market is open from early am to 7.30ish at night except Sun. when it closes at lunch. (new law I believe) No prblm. paying in sterling.

Hi everyone your facilities sound brill.
How about a donation box in your new office, pub etc.
This could help towards wear and tear, from visitors??

Aww! Am gutted - apparently am not allowed to join MSN website until my purchase is 'complete' - anyone know if this means not 'til permissions are through?? (have waited 4 years so far since applying at previous appt!!!). Or do you think not 'til physically 'moved in'?? (which should be in a few months). Suppose will have to keep looking at this website instead - but this seems OK!!

Hi Erica. If you have bought an apartment at Turtle Bay Village you will be able to join regardless of having your permissions through or not. None of us have received our permissions yet and we are all on the forum! Sorry if I have read your message wrong and have got the wrong end of the stick!

Hi Erica sorry I realised I have spoken to you already under another heading "Turtle Bay Village" and you mentioned you were "hopefully" in the process of buying there. This may be the reason why you can't get onto the site yet. If you have since bought something then you will be allowed on. All the best.

Erica
I was I who refused you access.
Its an owners forum, once you have completed the purchase of your property you will be allowed access.
We're trying to keep it a closed / private forum, to protect the interests of the owners. That we we can speak freely without fear of being overheard by someone. Be it the management company or the tax man (lol).
I'm sorry, but I hope you can appreciate where we are coming from.
Regards
Bev
