We have just returned from TRNC and think we have found a bit of a gem in the Shayna Beach bar.

5ytl for a sun lounger & brolly on either the jetty area, sandy beach or a purpose built grass area. They also have lads you walk round ready to get you a drink. No watersports though.

We went up to the beach bar and it was very classy indeed, lovely seats & sofas. Pint of Efes 5ytl.

Decided to eat because surroundings were so nice, not disaapointed. Tuna salad 10ytl & Lamb kebab and all the trimmings 16ytl (nice portion) were top class and so was the service.

It's on the road down to the Malpas Hotel beach bar, on the left hand side of the main road out of Catalkoy towards Esentepe. About a mile approx past the new Tempo supermarket.

I do know the beach bar belonging to The Malpas - but is the Shayna sign-posted?

Many thanks - Jackie

Jackie,

Shayna Beach bar sign is on the same hoarding as the Malpas run beach bar ( cannot remember it's name).

Just follow the same road down for both, Shayna comes first and is clearly visible from this road to the beach.

If you go hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

This is what used to be the Catalkoy Korfez beach and what a refurb it has had. I can see this venue doing very well this season. Luxury at affordable prices. Enjoy!

We were also there last week, it is really lovely. There were a couple of ladies who wouldn't pay, the attendant went to the bar and brought someone down with him who I think was trying to explain the charges and why there was a charge, the ladies picked up their things and left. I think it is well worth 5ytl.

This does sound good! Cheap but with all facilities provided!

Me & my fiance had a freebie trip to the 'Mercure hotel' beach' last week, we parked up the car and went straight down to the beach, it was such a hot day we practically threw ourselves into the sea! While we were dozing off on the sun loungers I was wondering when someone would come to charge us but nobody did, the beach wasn't busy as it was mid week, when we were walking back to the car we passed a wooden hut but it was empty so off we drove...thanks Mercure for that freebie! Don't know what they charge normally!

The beach belonging to the Malpas is the Cornaro Beach Club. Tony.
