Hi

Have had a phone call from our solicitor, advising that the deadline for registering contracts at the land registry office has now been extended to 30/4/08.

best wishes

Graham,

Did read your post and was holding my breath for official confirmation.

I'm not in NC until the 4th April. Really pleased that registration deadline extended and really hoping that the tax is also extended so I can get both done.

Hi Graham

Sorry no one showed any interest in your posting, I would have been interested, but did not go on line yesterday.

I will ask the tax office on Friday and let everyone know. I had it confirmed that the part amnesty for stamp duty for contracts signed in 2004 and earlier still stands i.e. 0.7% after the current full amnesty for penalties end.

Thanks jemjem for your advice - we went out last month but couldn't register because the law had changed 30 minutes beforehand. We think the £350. fee warrants another trip don't you?? Can anyone confirm the last date for registering Contracts with stamp duty already paid.

Many thanks
