Renewing Turkish Cypriot Driving License

We are due to renew ours in August. I know it can be done opposite the tax office in Girne, but am not sure what documentation is needed and how long before the current ones expire should the new ones be applied for. Do you have to go back and collect them? Thanks

friend did hers a couple of weeks ago. She just took her license with her. She had her passport but they didn't ask for it. She filled out a form (In Turkish but they helped her). She was given a piece of paper that covered her while waiting for the renewal. She was told it takes 3 weeks. Yes you have to go and collect it. Not sure if it at the same place or not. Ask them and they will tell you.When she took hers in it was a few days before expiry(less than a week). Hope this helps.

Re Roisin's reply,you collect from the same place and it only took 10 days for ours. You can take it out for various lengths of time.

You need to take 2 x passport size photographs with you, your old Cypriot driving licence, a photocopy of your passport and the money (which must be in lira). I think its 300YTL for 5 years. You then need to fill in that form, but most of the information is the same as whats already on your current licence. They are quite helpful and will help you if you get stuck. Its the middle desk you need to go to. My boyfriend did his about 2 weeks ago and i picked it up on Thursday.
