Hi Has anyone claimed or tried to claim for the late completion of their property. Our property is over a year late for completion although it only needs electric a/c and outside shower

Yes we have. And 2 years down the line we're still waiting for a court date that everyone can attend. Our solictior reckons another 2, maybe 3, years before the court loses its patience and goes for a judgment.

It can be done and now with depressed house prices it is the best time. Theoretically the owner can refuse to transfer the title deeds and you can only ask for compensation but with low prices it is not on. ismet

If a builder/developer is struggling financially there is little point in pursuing compensation and making the position worse. Do any of you remember the Spanish problems in the late eighties?? It must be better to negotiate if the builder goes under and he owes a bank money it is probably secured on the individual plots. In spain some had to pay off buiders loans and then pay for the completion of their plots so the answer must be to negotiate and dont make things worse.
