Hi,

I am just wondering how long you need to be a resident before you can apply for a provisional and start driving lessons. Im enquiring for my mum who didnt drive in the UK, but is hoping to here.

Thanks in advance.

Michael.

I don't think there is a limit. You just have to have residency so however long that takes to get. There used to be a limit on lessons needed also. You had to pay for 10 whether you needed 10 or not. Not sure if this is still the same.

I read on this forum a while ago that there are no Fail tests here, you pay for 10 lessons and hey presto you can have a driving licence. Isn't it grand here.

Valid driving test in TRNC - yeh, right.

I've driven in UK for over 40 years and would still not drive in TRNC at night.

Mr Cyprus (I think we've actually met, at Guido's) wish your mum the very best of luck
