I am sure Notsosbored housewife will give you an update as we only get shot down when telling others as it is. Some do not want to hear about the experiences we have been put through and fortunately have come out the otherside to much better times and now a fantastic site.

My only hope that one day ALL MC are regulated so that all can enjoy their places in the sun without fear or favour. !!!!!

Wizard..have been back about 2weeks from TBV and every thing was spot on.The pool outside the apartment i stayed in was excellent and everywhere was very clean. The other pools were quite busy from what I saw and several people I spoke to said the Bistro was quite good, but not much choice.I cannot comment on the Kings Bar,never went in. We found that it was better to shop in Supreme on the way to Girne, great supermarket with a great range of products and they were giving a fair exchange rate as well. They have a nice cafe attached to it and do a very good full english breakfast for9tl..Hope you have as nice a time as I did ..enjoy...

Wizard..I have some pictures but I do not know how to put them on here, all I can say is that do not worry you will enjoy the place. There is a crazy golf place and a play ground if you have little ones with you and also a giant chess board. There is a little beach about 5/6mins walk with a small jetty and ok for snorkeling and swimming. You will need a car to get arouind but I assume you knew that.Overall you will not be dissapointed.I am 68 and enjoyed every minute of it...

As an owner, i can assure you that anyone staying on the site will think it's brilliant and will have a great time. ( though just hope you're staying in one of the 'finished' bits not in the forgotten zone !) What's upsetting owners is all the things we were promised that the developer have not delivered.

A gated and secure site - NO

Beautiful tropical gardens - NO

Private sandy beach - NO

Restaurant - NO

Hair/Beauty Salon - NO

Water at Cost price from a plant WE paid for - A BIG NO

To any outsiders, TBV may seem like a perfect village compared to some sites but is that a reason for owners to sit back and say 'Oh, I suppose that will have to do !' ?

If Kensington make massive sales based on promises made in glossy mags then they need to stick to them. All they say is 'Have a look at the green pools next door and stop your moaning.'

Would we accept this from a developer in the UK ? Of course not.

Unless you own on TBV you really can't comment on the issues that affect US.

Oh dear Arnie, please wash your mouth out for mentioning green pools. The trouble is, as long as you have people that think all is rosy, the developer will feel they can still avoid doing whats promised as they just play off one owner against the other and sit back and let them 'infight'

Millzer, I dont think theres a single owner on TBV who would disagree with my last posting. What we may disagree on is how we address the problem. Clearly many feel uncomfortable about airing these problems on a public forum for fear of 'damaging' the site. Others are now so frustrated that they feel this is the only course of action left open to us.

Hi All, we are new owners and have just spent two weeks on holiday in TBV, we had a great time but there were some aspects we found disappointing.

Mainly the beach area, this is nothing more than a big sand pit with sun beds. The access too the beach is down a steep hill with lots of debris sticking out the path way which in my opinion could be especially dangerous to children running down. The other main problem is the pavement between the supermarket and the Kings pub is in poor condition.

These things can be fixed if the owners work together and pressurise the developer to provide what they promised. However I would say to anyone thinking of going to TBV they should go ahead as they will have a great time and meet a lot of nice people as we did..........Froggie

As an owner on Turtle Bay, and having just returned from there, I would say

the following:-

1. Things are improving under the new management, and committee are doing a

great job.

2. Pools and surrounds are cleaned regularly and I did not see any that were not.

3. I mentioned weeding needed near my block, and it was done in 2 days.

4. Bistro is now doing delicious kofte and fish, lamb/chick shish to follow soon on

new bbq.

5. Everything I reported to Resco has been listened to and responded to.

6. ALL my neighbours there are very happy, friendly and helpful people

7. I am very glad I bought on Turtle Bay, and so are my family and friends

Hi guys ,

I will be coming out to TBV in a couple of weeks with my family. It sounds really nice just wanted a heads up on a few questions .

1. What sort of price are we talking for a beer ?

2. My wife wants to know if it is acceptable to go topless , at the same time we do not want to upset anyone.

3. Do we definitely need a hire car .

4. Alot of the locale business's seam to prefer UK money , is this true ? Is it a good idea to bring both Uk money and Tl ?

I know that these are all very radom questions , but it would be apprecated if some one could answer them . Thanks in advance .

1. Don't know beer price exactly but cheap

2. Very few go topless, and some pools have several T.C. owners, who may be embarrassed

but on the whole pretty tolerant people.

3. There is a minibus service which has a timetable several times a day 4 ytl

4. Yes, they will take anything, sterling, euros, lira

Hope this helps.

Greetings

You will have a good time, take some factor 30 its hot hot hot, Only the bistro is open not both as someone said but the bistros food is very nice indeed, I like to take a stroll up there for a beer and some food and read a book.

No orange cover in cyprus, you will have to phone orange and get your phone set to roaming, you will then get a local supplier, calls are not cheap.

100% agree with what Arnie58 said.

TBV looking better is down to Simon and the committees work nothing to do with Kensington. We are making the best of a bad lot while Kensington has moved on to greener pastures.

They has rinsed us dry and left us in the lurch, now they need a new source, It could be you !

Beas..A car would help you to get around a lot easier. If you are doing your own catering as we did, the Best Supermarkets are on the way to Girne .The one on site does not have a very good selection, plus the bigger Supreme is terrific. A pint of the local Effes beer from the supermarket was les than a £1. I found eating out was on a par with the UK but they really do hammer you on the wine ...

jEANETTE..I am not an owner on TBV but I did holiday there for two weeks in June.I appreciate the owners there have ongoing problems with the developers, but as a holidaymaker it was excellent. The pool area where we were was spotlessly clean and we used it every day.The bistro serves pretty good food as does the Kings Bar.If you are into doing your own which did, the supermarket on siteis not bad.We found that having the car allowed us to go towards Kyrenia and go into the better supermarkets IE Supreme,Lemar, the former was excellent and they give you a good rate of exchange for the £.If you have a car there are several eating places within 10mins drive from the village. The beach is nothing to write home about, but ok if you are into snorkelling etc. If you go have a nice time I certainly did!!!!

Just returned from TBV - very hot weather & great accomodation (we had a three bedroomed villa with own pool - but we also went with my father who had a three bedroomed apartment on site.) We had three kids with us - aged 4, 13 and 16 - all of whom didn't want to return home.

We all had a fab time! Grounds and pools very clean and well maintained. Good supermarket on site with basics, crazy golf , play park and large chess set.We Hired a car - which we couldn't have done without - and visited a number of beaches & supermarkets regularly. (our favorite beach was Acapulco hotel which cost 10YTL per person/ 5 YTL per child per day - but this included use of the pool and access to the beach - where shade was available on a large decking area.) Also ate out regularly at the Golf club - 5 mins drive - approx 2 kilometers away -which was great (can highly recommend the crab cakes!) Would love to know who to contact to arrange further booking for next year if anyone can assist please. Thanks
