A great little beach bar/cafe has recently been built at the cove near Lapta. Its run by Ohkay and Silk a very friendly couple who will make you very welcome. For this first season the sun beds are free and although its in its early stage you will see how much work they have put into creating a great little beach.Goggle coordinates

35'21'34,84 N 33'08'15,45 E

Hi Paul

From Kyrenia take the road along the coast towards Lapta .You will pass Flippers holiday village on the left , continue on past 2 white lion statues and a small supermarket.Take the 2nd track on the right after the supermarket and follow it down till you see the unfinished hotel .turn right and you will see the cove through the trees.

We couldn't find it! We followed the directions, found the unfinished hotel, turned right and it looked like we were on someone's land, there was a guy asleep under a tree, so we left. Where did we go wrong?

Aaah, the directions said turn right when you get to the unfinished hotel. We did try turning right, right in front of the hotel but a guy driving a van who we asked said there was no beach or beach bar that way!

We went there last week is is brilliant. you drive in where it looks like someone house , I got to it via the night club with the heart on by simini hotel drive right to the end past night club go past hotel being built and turn left . The food was basic but very cheap and the beach is great. It looks lkike you are driving into someone house but you turn off before it.

I went there a couple of weeks ago and as you say the food is ok, the beach is ok, free beds etc. The only thing I found was the rocks when you tried to get in the water were rather a problem. I am sure next season they will have sorted the rocks problem out somehow. I will almost certainly use the place, as I said before everything else is ok and its how a beach bar should be and not tarted up with laser lights and loud music banging away blocking out the sound of the waves. Good luck to them.

Hi Yorgozlu,

How very kind of you, unfortunately we are back in the U.K. now. Maybe next year we will be in touch!

Many thanks,

Higgi
