Just to let you know there will be a hatch at Alagadi tonight, please meet at the Goat Shed @ 6.30pm.

Their Net is down so can't update the BLOG at present.

We only know on a daily basis, so if you can't make tonight, check out the BLOG - http://turtleproject09.blogspot.com or give me a call another day there are many more to hatch.

Strictly speaking it should be called an excavation. The volunteers know when a nest is due to hatch, and keep an eye on it. They allow the hatchlings to emerge on their own. Once no more appear, the nest is excavated, and any stragglers given a hand. This is done once the heat has gone from the sun, in the early evening.



The decision to excavate a particular nest is very rarely made earlier than the day of excavation, hence the need to keep an eye on BBs, web sites, blogs and phone numbers.
