For those searching for a good choice, excellent service and staff who speak English considerably better than I speak Turkish, I would highly recommend HASCELIK Ltd in Nicosia. We searched all day in Girne for 'just the right' furniture and found very little. HASCELIK were able to supply dining furniture (and deliver the same day!) at a fraction of comparative cost (good discount for cash) and made a gift of cushions, coffee and cake!.

Turn left at main roundabout Nicosia / Girne road then left at next roundabout, Ataturk Stadyumu (the pots) and shop is on the right. We dealt with Ulker MUTLU, who was couteous and a great help.

Tel: (0392-225 53 17-18-19.

Hi Scamper

Did Hascelik have a lot to choose from, I am looking for a couple of individual smallish armchairs which would suit lounge or bedroom. Thanks

Do they have a website?

I went into Homefront in Karaoglanaglu last week and they made us laugh with their creative pricing policy. Won't go in there again

Hi Sissy and The Scarlets,

The store is large and has room layouts and individual pieces plus rugs, lights etc. Having scoured Girne, we found they had an extensive choice and NO WROUGHT IRON!!!. Sadly, although I have an email address for them. mustafahascelik@hascelik.com, i'm not sure if they have a website.

Best regards,

Ian.

Hi Scamper,

Just want to clarify the directions to this shop, as I have never been to Nicosia on my own.

At the first very large roundabout you come to in Nicosia, you turn left past all the car salerooms on your right? At the next roundabout you turn left again? I have to help someone looking for furniture soon and maybe this would be a good place to start.

Hello the Butler?,

Directions as you say.....first big roundabout (the one with the nice new statues on it,) turn left then to next roundabout with traffic lights on and a slip road left. At approach to the roundabout on the left is the stadium. Store is about 100 meters down that left turn and on your right.

Best wishes,

Scamper.

PS you can of course try Mermaid as suggested by clayton but we found them expensive and lacking in choice.
