My daughter has been told it is going at 6.45 am tomorrow. I am checking departures at Manchester and they are up to 3 am tomorrow so far, hopefully this flight will be up in another 3 hours time.

Latest news from CTA - please don't quote me on this, its what i've just found out just now and may be subject to changes by CTA:

Ercan to Manchester flight is now taking off at 1.00am should be arriving in Manchester at 05.15am tomorrow (23rd)

Ercan to Stansted flight is now taking off at 2.00am and should be arriving in Stansted at 06.00am tomorrow (23rd)

Manchester to Ercan flight from 12.30pm today has been rescheduled for 06.45am tomorrow morning (23rd) - HAS NOW BEEN CONFIRMED BY AIRLINE

Stansted to Ercan flight from 07.30am and 10.30am today have been rescheduled for 07.30am tomorrow morning (23rd) = HAS NOW BEEN CONFIRMED BY AIRLINE

the 17.15 Heathrow flight today will be taking off, but is currently delayed for 2 hours and 45 minutes

Hope that helps.

My friends who are coming via stansted to Ercan tomorrow morning, rang the airport and they are putting out another 7.30am flight to take some of the backlog so that most people will only have an hour or so delay

From Chaos at Ercan AGAIN thread: Msg 24 Thanks Teresa for publishing this in the middle of making a sale at KibriGalini (I hope the bride has bought). I am quoting what you said

"Had a phone call from Tom in the UK he has asked me to post this as he is not near a computer at the moment. The strike is only affecting CTA at the moment, he is advising allowing 3 hours for check in to cope with the back log. I am sure he will be on later with all the latest news"

It was very hard to get answers as CTA in London were not informed till after the staff got into the offices (& that info was very poor). Staff who were off work went in to try to assist; so be nice to them. I was trying to get assistance for Cyprus44 from them, our people in Cyprus & Pegasus but it was slim and I had to go out before 08.00 today for personal reasons, so again thank you Teresa.

Check in early; KTHY will have trouble, they are laying on extra flights on Sunday to assist. Call Ercan for info!

I think it only affects CTA, the pilot of the Manchester flight said he had not been paid for two months. I presume the rest of the CTA staff have not been paid for two months either.

It is beyond belief that CTA would think it wise to create such a situation with their pilots of all people, who have the lives of upto 200 people in their hands at any one time. Bad feelings towards their employer could quite easily lead to a less conscientous approach towards safety and procedures, and the implications of this could be catastrophic.
