We had booked this flight on CTA website a while ago, just had a look to make sure and looks like this flight is not going anywhere. Anyone else booked it ? Looks like we have been transferred to the 10pm flight arrive Ercan 05.30. Does anyone know if I would get a refund if I cancel and re book with another airline. Fare basis X6 (I hate night flights)

Refunds - different classes according the Terms and Conditions as I see them and read them (so I might interpret them incorrectly).

Some will allow a refund often subject to a handling charge

Some are marked no changes, no refunds and as far as I am aware they are X,A, O, F

If you are a "no show" sometimes 30% sometimes more may be defunded (subject to the class booked)

All changes can be subject to a fee

If you book through an agent they can charge you fees for alterations etc. (that is not subject to CTA rules)

If you buy an I or G class that is a BT seat from a tour operator and then the rules are down to them not KTHY but the operators is subject to rules from the airline (which could override the operators rules).

NB This information is not definitive and can also be subject to other rules such as local VAT etc etc

But Tom,

Isn't the point about no changes on a ticket just as binding on the half-wits that run KTHY?

If you booked the ticket in UK then it must be subject to UK small claims court.

I am not legal so can't give an opinion. You buy your tickets under such international rules as the Warsaw Convetion.

If you go to small claims you have to have conformed to all the airline rules under which you bought that ticket. The airline contract with you is probably to do their best to get you to the destination. (Not when or how)

I have had a phone call from CTA today about a flight in October already booked, this has been altered from a 13.30 take off until 10.00pm, not acceptable I said, I do not want a night flight and anyway if I did it would have normally been a tad cheaper, so as I am flexible with the date, I have been changed to the following day with a later return flight, so all ok now and they did phone me back again confirming this had been done.

From experience CTA will always try to help where they can.

According to EEC Regulation 261/2004 for flights departing from or to EEC territories, if you have been notified of a cancellation with more than 146 days notice, you are entitled to a full refund. I believe that the law takes precedence over CTA's own terms and conditions, so the fare class booked is irrelevant.

Thanks.

I have telephoned CTA and cancelled, they are giving me a full refund. I have rebooked to fly the same day with Pegasus on a day time flight leaving Stansted lunch time. The Pegasus flights are obviously more expensive than the flights booked 2 months ago!

Hi exnavalperson ,Yes 00994, it would have left Stansted at 08.00 in the morning this one is cancelled and they offered me a flight the same day but to fly at 22.00 and arrive Ercan at 05.30am Sunday. I booked ours in May I just wish they could have let me know!
