Can anyone tell me how to say "Is it tender" and "does it have to be cooked for long", in Turkish lol. Have seen various cuts of meat that I wouldn't mind trying but I can't make them understand what I'm wanting. Or if someone could help me with the Turkish words for various cuts of beef I'd be extremely greatful.

TIA

Hi yorkie58,

Sorry, but can't answer your question about the language.

Have seen lot's of nice looking pieces of beef.

The problem in the TRNC is that the beast is not hung for long enough,

in UK it would be normal to hang it for at least 3 weeks, before carving it.

Goats & sheep, as far as I'm aware,

are killed & sold the same day in this part of the world.

Not too sure about the beef though :-(

I tend to stick to chicken, or the odd pork chop,

that might find it's way here

Another option is to visit a restaurant that does good steaks,

and ask them to order you some.

Was at Körfez Beach Restaurant @ Shayna Beach, they do great steaks

Down the road next to the Happy Valley, Çatalköy...

i was a butcher in england for almost 50 years, i havent found a butcher here that knows how to cut beef. the only cattle here are dairy cattle not beef cattle, consequently this is why beef is of a poor quality in general.
