I desperately need to buy a new, good quality mattress 160 x 200cm. Went into Tempur yesterday and had the NASA space experience and it was indeed incredibly comfortable. The downside was that to buy a 7cm overlay mattress in the size I need costs 1000 Euro!!!

So onto Plan B. Can somebody please recommend a good alternative. I don't mind spending money but really cannot afford/justify the cost of the Tempur unless I get my husband to sell his classic car (unlikely).

A few years ago bought Turkish "orthopedic" quality and have found them excelent of course it does not get heavy use as we are not often in Lapta.

None the less worth looking at (ours came from Arcelik near to Girne Wednesday market).

Not the cost of a car let alone a classic!

Hi J&J

I bought a 160 x200cm Acelya, pocket sprung, othapedic mattress with 3cm memory foam top from Homefront today - it is excellent quality for the price of £450. They also do a Tempur style mattress, I think it is about £600 for a double not sure about King.

Many thanks for the recommendations. I like the idea of trying them out at Mermaid so will give that a go first.

Would also like to know if anyone has used a memory foam mattress on a solid bed base. We have the lift-up style beds but I have been told that memory foam needs air circulation. Any info would be appreciated.
