Driving to Limassol from Metehan

Hi I am looking to drive to Limassol on Sunday from Metehan. I have never driven on the South before and I am a bit nervous so if anybody had a dummys guide it would be fantastic.

Just head for larnaca and then pick up the signs for limassol. One straight motorway really easy.

Kitty, once you leave Lefkosia, Limassol is on the signposts as Lemesos. The motorway takes you straight there.

If u haven't been over with your car don't forget you have to buy insurance(monthly or more) and do some other paper work(first time only I think) Not sure if those insueance places and the other place is open at weekend.

Don,t forget to get your road tax at the border, you will need all your paperwork, log book etc, and also your driving licence, the office is open Mon - Fri until 2pm only. There is no charge for the road tax.

re your trip to Lima(s)sol / Lemesos !



All the directions are pretty good, but if you get lost PLEASE don't ask, "which way to the border" .. ask "which way to the crossing point"..



If I can help re specific directions when getting near to Limas(s)ol.. the maps are normally CRAP... the Motorway from Nicosia goes all the way to Paphos now via flyovers and the exits come at you a bit fast.



Lima(s)sol is REALLY confusing the first time.. just remember that the Mountains are to the north, sea to the south, and that there is an inner ring road before the Motorway (Highway as it is commonly called)



Coming back to Nicosia is easy.. and you'll see a sign for Kyrenia, meaning it's time to leave the m/way..



You'll be looking for Ayios Dometios crossing point on the way back.

The Motorway takes you OVER the northern outskirts of Limas(s)ol.. with only one underpass..
