My first post! Travelling out next week with Pegasus. Have 25kg hold baggage allowance per person. Anybody know if this is for one bag only or can cover more than one bag? Also, in a group of three. Do they or could their consider all group bags to total allowance of 75kg. This would cover situation where one person is under their max allowance and say another was over.

Thanks

Hi Nettoboy and welcome

from past experience (but not with Pegasus) if you hand over all passports at the same time they will group all baggage together so you should be ok. If Tom at IAH is on-line he will be able to answer with exact information.

At present multiple bags should be accepted and they take a total for all passengers but make sure no bag is over 32 Kg

Thanks for your quck replies. Have tried getting this info from Pegasus - their new site is awful (as many have thus found!) - to no avail. They just quoted the max allowance for hold and hand baggage, which I already know. Aware of the max 32kg restriction. Have to see if Tom at IAH will respond? please, please!

Had a negative experience with them and have vowed never to use again

the allowance is 25 Kg per person and if you are just 1 Kg over THEY WILL AND DO CHARGE

CTA at least allow cargo at no cost

I was hit hard by Pagasus and will not use again!

You did well with CTA if they did not charge you, I have been on flights where they have been very strict and charging. Pegasus in my opinion are no different to others on charging for baggage, often it depends on the mood of the check in person.

Pegasus are moving towards a one bag policy like many other airlines, that is if you have more than one bag you will be charged even if within the wieght (20kg). They give you the option of buying more bags but this does not increase your wieght.

To not use Pegasus again you may be restricting your flight options on the basis of what CTA would have done.

We have been charged with CTA but only when flying from Birmingham. We've always been overweight at Heathrow and they seem to turn a blind eye as long as its not too much over (we are usually about 3kg over). Trouble is we are never sure of the exact limit as they appear to always be moving the goalpost. Last time I had 10kg in hand luggage, check in weighed it and said too much. I replied nah I can lift it and he just smiled and let it go.

I booked with Pegasus for 12th November. I have my e-ticket in front of me and it clearly says 20kg for luggage. Recently travelled (5 weeks ago) and it was 25, so maybe they have changed their policy for winter.

Morning all

Having just flown back to England and read this thread I really do feel Pegasus have been portrayed as a difficult airline to travel on, in my experience the opposite is true, indeed yesterday I booked all our flights for next year with them.

Why complain if you are charged for excess weight as stated in the contract you accepted, take the responsibility for your error.

Unlike CTA Pegasus are trying to survive in a difficult market and are trying to create a model along the lines of Easy Jet and Ryan air and I applaud them for doing just that. They generally are far cheaper than CTA and personally I have no problem with their catering policy.

Oh and they have cabin staff who know how to smile!!

Dougskud is right. Why is that other guy having a go at Pegasus over something that was his own fault beats me.

Pegasus is brilliant. Our experiences are

25kg each hold luggage combined weight of any amount of cases/people. Hand Luggage 8kg.

Only at UK end do they charge, going from Ercan it isnt checked unless over 32kg

Baggage allowance when we flew out this summer we had 25kg per case and a oversized parcel no charge at all. But it always depends on the person giving out the tickets, smile, ask about thier day make them feel a little important and if they do ask look dumb works for me.

Agree with what has been said, if you are over then you are over and get charged.

If everyone was only a kilo or two over then the airline would have to use more fuel to carry the extra weight and therefore the cost of travel would have to go up. As it is Pegasus do really cheap flights so I can't understand how some can complain when the airline is trying to keep cost of flights down and therefore keeping the price of the tickets down!
