Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter regarding our decision to allow construction work on Sunday's, this decision has not been taken lightly but we feel that the economic future of the island can be saved by passing this law.

We would also like to thank the electorate for their support and the expatriate community for investing in our country and wish you all a peaceful Sunday morning lie-in (noun) a long stay in bed in the morning. repose, rest, ease, relaxation - freedom from activity (work or strain or responsibility).

Regards

UBP

Aslan, presumably you sent the letter in? Do you have an address please, I am going to do the same. It is a bloody disgrace.

Friends of ours actually go back to the UK for a bit of piece and quiet!

To say that working on a sunday can save the economic future of the economy is totally, absurdly, ridiculously stupid!!!

It might be a good idea to ask if building workers would kindly work the remaining days of the week Lol

From what I saw touring the North this summer, I must assume that they are ONLY working on these half finished projects all over on Sundays! There certainly didn't seem to be any work going on on them from Mondays to Saturdays.

I thought they'd abandoned work on them. Wherever I went the view was the same - grey concrete half built hulks everywhere. The big hotel in Bozaz probably taking first prize.

Can anyone tell me why they continue building, there are enough empty apartments/villas/shops already, why build more, and where does the money come from ?

lol

Hattikins I cant believe you dont know the money comes from gullible UK residents who want to live in the sun.

it seems very obvious to me from reading threads on this forum they build the first phase of the estate on time and properly doing this helps sell the second and third phases which they never finish before moving on to the next development site

I wonder if the first phase is smaller than any other part? the second phase being the largest phase???

or an i just becoming very cynical?

I would still like to buy on pre 74 land but i suspect it will be a resale.

I am comming out in Febuary for a look around cos i have looked at Spain but dont fancy it
