Hi all,

Does anyone know what the letters mean on the TRNC licence,

I have all these letters and can't find out what they mean.

Thanks.

Best of luck, I tried asking a policeman and he just shrugged and walked away - guess I can drive anything until stopped and told I can't. OR I can't drive anything unless I am told I can (whilst driving it), I just love it here.

The categories are just about the same as the UK licence. I have a "D" which is "D1" in the UK. Look on the back of your card licence for the categories in the UK.

A "D" allows you to drive anything up to a minibus with 16 seats here. I had driven a 17 seater minibus with 2 seats removed, hence a 15 seater. It was subsequently pointed out to us by the police that this was not permitted as the bus had the capacity for 17 seats. They were very nice about it.

D does not permit a trailer to be used.
