How do you get a post which is important to stay at the top (hot)

But we have been asking for the SOS Santa Project for Children to be made a Sticky but to no avail after so many people have requested it.

And yet if you say you are going to leave the forum it gets turned into a sticky (hot)

I am not saying what Turtle is stating is not important but at this time of the year I think that the SOS project should not have to be brought to the top to get noticed.

Sorry if this offends, this is only my opinion

Smithy, a 'sticky' gets a future date, and stays at the top until that date, as far as I'm aware only Izzet can do this, a thread becomes 'hot' after 50 posts.

Nothing becomes a sticky unless it is requested via Izzet, there is a bug with the software on this site where some items appear to be a sticky and if you do a page refresh then they should disappear. If you have any problems with this then please do not hesitate in contacting any of the forum admin members and or Izzet.

I think you're confusing a 'hot' topic - one which gets a lot of responses, and therefore stays near the top of it's own accord - with a 'sticky' topic.

I think that the 'hot' label is applied automatically by the computer that runs this forum's software.

To make a topic 'sticky', you need to email Izzet with the URL - http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/25813.asp in this case - and ask him to make it a sticky.

Don't rely on just posting a request on the forum - he doesn't read EVERY thread

Also, even if you do email him, don't expect a response straight away - sometimes he's away on business (or even pleasure ), so you have to wait until he actually sees your request...

Good luck with the appeal, by the way.
