The abandoned "Battersea power station": Click a URL below and be patient till 1: you see the 360 degree photograph on your screen. 2: Click the picture and keep your left mouse button pressed 3: move the cursor slowly tot the right, left, top or bottom. (4: to study a detail release the mouse button). Please note that these are lo res photos - the originals are much better (on a certain web site visitors will have a choice: hi res or lo res, often depending on the speed of your Internet connection - more info later. Hans, as a very young fireman my first big fire was in the roof of Battersea power station. By the time our fire engine arrived from the other side of London the main fire was out with just hot spots to be dealt with. The wooden walkways had all burnt away with only the steel runners left. So there I was 140 foot above the floor of the boiler room, with one foot on each runner with a fire extinguisher in hand and breathing appartus on my back, making my way across the roof void aiming at any smoking hot spots I could see. Thinking back it scares the life out of me but then it was quite exciting.

excuse me, DutchCrusader, I am not one to gloat but having been firmly put in my place by yourself, as you keep telling us, "what has Battersea power station got to do with the TRNC"

RE msg 3, everon: See this thread http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/27510.asp with only 133 views and only 5 or so participants in what I hoped to become a debate. Not so. There's obviously no need to analyse the intellectual level of posts nor discuss the knowledge about and real interest in Cyprus on this board - I fear it's as deep as a shallow river. I admit defeat.

I'll join the daily-copy-a-joke brigade and publish a Dutch joke every day.

P.S. No, I don't think Battersea power station has anything to do with TRNC. And why would it? See my text above and the thread mentioned above.

P.P.S. Next time we'll photograph Kib-Tek near Alagadi beach. OK?
