I would assume your travel agent would inform you.

I normaly try to be there 2 hours before but check in can sometimes start a little later.

Flightholiday,

What travel agent? I booked on-line - doesn't everyone? The website says check in time for "domestic" flights is one hour before. Is Ercan to Istanbul a domestic flight?

Dave - I hope many people do still go to agents otherwise I will be out of business. Ours is an internet based travel agency.

Dave,

I had already given you the advice that I give our travelers and that I use myself Msg 2. Was there a need to give it again?

I know what the check in times and last moment check in's are and I would NEVER give that to a client as that is last minute and you can easily miss a flight. (Who would you blame then? Who would you then try to get money back from as it would be your fault?)

Everything else depends on who you talk to and what the queue in front of you is like etc. So I will keep to my suggestion and keep arriving early.

Dave,

Ercan to Istanbul, and vice versa, is classed as an International Flight to/from Turkey, not a Domestic flight.

The TRNC is a self run State with aid given from Turkey. If Turkey was the government in power in the TRNC it would be a Domestic flight. Another note is that you can take from/bring into the TRNC Duty Free Goods. Another give away is that ANYTHING imported from Turkey has to have Import Duties paid before being released to you. And finally, all flights that depart Ataturk Airport to the TRNC leave from Terminal 1 which is the International Flight Terminal, as Terminal 2 is for Domestic, Internal Flights only and has no Duty Free Shops.
