From mid April EasyJet everyday flights Bristol to Paphos

Anyone know car hire company in South allows driving in TRNC or car hire in TRNC who would collect from Paphos as part of 2 week hire

Also can members provide e mail address / tel number for Dr Jan? Lefkosia (spinal expert)

Back problem returned and NHS so slow

Thx

Fontana car hire are the only company that will let you take a car from the south to north

finchy - are you sure? I see lots of South hired cars in the North, surely not all from Fontana.

There are, indeed, lots. However, I'd suggest a Paphos pick up. There will be an extra charge for this, but balance it up with the fact that by hiring in the north the basic rate will probably be cheaper, and you won't have additional insurance to pay at the border, and even with the insurance you're still only insured third party. Also if you have an accident in the north, the recovery to the south will be at your expence.

Of course, if you intend to float backwards and forwards between north and south, it's a bit academic.

My OH works for Budget Rentals in Larnaca and often rents cars to go to the north. Think the bosses turn a blind eye as long as they get their rental money. They also have an office at Paphos Airport.

Just as a point of interest, we have found Budget in Larnaca to be very reliable and friendly in the past. Good news that they have an office in Paphos too.

We have hired cars lots of times from the south. I'm sure that Fontana are the only company that don't have a problem with it, whilst others you just don't tell. I agree re:the insurance 40Euros for a month and it's only third party. We have also had a north car hire company pick us up at Larnaca to Girne and also take us back for £40 each way.

Zorpas car hire in Vrysoulles (just over the border crossing from Famagusta, on the left, about 200 m along from Litsas supermarket, 200 m before the Esso Petrol station. Their Phone No. is:

00357 23-962214 or 23-962527. They are very helpful, quite cheap, and can meet you off te plane at Larnaca or at the Border crossing point. They allow you to take their cars from the South into the North.

Sorry people

We would come in to Paphos not Larnaca, due to distance from border crossing was worried TRNC companies would not collect

Also have seen many Southern registered cars in North not any rental
