All planes are expected to remain grounded for up to an hour while snow and ice are cleared off runway one - the only runway being used over the Christmas period.



A spokesman denied earlier reports which said the airport had closed.



But he confirmed one flight had to be redirected to Birmingham airport earlier.



"We are not closed at the moment - just clearing snow from runway one,"

To me this reads flights are delayed which is to be expected in these weather conditions
