Our friend who moved into the Esentepe area only 3 months ago,

had their house broken into yesterday.

Money and jewelry stolen.

What a welcome to the TRNC :-(

Make sure your house is secure if you're going out tomorrow, or any time!

Merry Xmas,

Navek

message3 - modern world ??? N cyprus was fine until you lot started to invade and spoil the place.

Do you consider Ireland (both sides but particularly the north) or england to be modern?

And would you like TRNC to be like them?

It's prats like you who have imposed your rules and now your'e beginning to reap the rewards.

Um - excuse me, message 7. "N Cyprus was fine until you lot started to invade and spoil the place"?

Now, I don't have a place anywhere near this area, but what the hell are you on about?

And who the hell is "your lot"

You sound a completely heartless B to me.

And what 'rules' have been imposed?

Are you p....d by any chance?

"Your lot" is the irritating and annoying bunch of english and n irish prats who have moved to TRNC either as ex-pats or who have holidayed there and who have continually complained and whined about the situation there - and have spoilt the place - as happened in the south and in Spain ( and elsewhere )- You are a bloody disgrace( if you are one of them of course)

And there is no more heartless bastards than the ones who move abroad and expect the locals to dance to their tune.

The ordinary people in TRNC don't have a pot to piss in but still would not steal!!Your enemies are people like yourselves!!

Thank you, littlejohn, for your reply. Difficult to know where to start here, really. I certainly would not consider myself an "English or N. Irish prat", as you so eloquently put it. What I have done is visited N.C. for the past 20 years and now own a holiday home there. I am not aware of ever having whined about the place, apart from the obvious, i.e. I wish they'd sort the litter problems out, etc. We, fortunately, had no problems (unlike many others) in the purchase of our apartment. I have certainly have never expected any locals to 'dance to my tune' - I consider myself a guest in a foreign country and attempt to integrate with local people. Which is why, when we were looking for a place to buy, we insisted on living within a mixed community of both locals/ex-pats/holidaymakers. As far as myself and my husband are concerned, this has worked out very well. We have taken Turkish classes in the UK in an effort to integrate, and, so far, so good.

Jeannie (merry xmas)

I can understand where littlejohns coming from but not the tone of his post, yes the influx of expat brits have brought their unwelcome s*1t with them, but not all expats stoop to the behaviour of some we moved here to get away from fish- n -chips, boozy pubs drunk lushes etc, but unfortunately they follow us. there have also been one or two instances of Brits doing burglaries in the past but most of the break ins are done by mainland Turks, littlejohn do not class all of us in the same boat, and remember that people have moved from country to country since time began

Off topic again sorry Navek

For what its worth most of the thieves they have caught here are neither Cypriot or British but are generally from Turkey and even then they only represent a very small percentage of the Turkish population here and are not typical.

Aussie,

You are absolutley right-infact their are two Turkish men currently doing time for the last set of burglaries in the Esentepe area.

Just can't understand the outrageous remarks made by Littlejohn-he must of had too much Xmas spirt.

An aplogy from him would be appropriate.

It's "Prats" (his words not mine ) like littlejohn that start wars he should be removed from site. he neglects to mention all the Turkish Cypriots living very nice lives in Britain ? he should think before he rattles of a load of rubbish. disgusting attitude from someone full of hatred.

It will be interesting, if they are caught to find out what nationality the thieving g....ts are. I would put money on them being from mainland Turkey. All the burglaries I have read about have been found to be mainland Turks that were caught trying to board the ferry back to Turkey with all their loot. Our friends in Esentepe were burgled and the thieves were caught with the 5ft plasma tv and lots of othere items in the back of their van. They broke to the getting it over the wall at the back of the house, so it was no good to them anyway.

Have just spoken to the lady in question, who is a good friend of mine.....although she is very upset about the incident she is grateful to her neighbours for caring...especially you and your wife who went round last night with a bottle of wine to support her......well done.

It is times like this that good friend's and neighbours come into play.

As for Littlejohn's comments......lets hope it never happens to you.

I can speak from bitter experience!! We were broken into earlier this year, it was a main land Turk working for our builder. He became a trusted friend but you never know. He is now serving 7yrs in prison. A shocking experinece who I would not wish on anyone.

Little John must be right!

If we hadn't come to TRNC and if we hadn't bought houses, then there would have been no need to bring lots of mainland Turks over to build them. Ergo less burglaries so stands to reason it is our fault!

Or maybe its our fault as if we hadn't built the houses there would be none to burgle!

Very sorry to hear about the burglaries, sorry for the misery caused by them.

Littlejohn, you obviously have a very big problem with Brit's, the Irish and by the sounds of it anybody that is not a Cypriot. Your phrases of the english language suggest to me, and a few others I am sure, that you sound very much like an English Cyp. Like many, we had no trouble with our builders or any other things that we have had done or purchased. oUR two complaints, one being the rubbish that is just thrown and left, does not matter that it spoils this country for everybody. Second complaint that standard of driving here is second to none. Many, many Cypriots have extremely big cars, they do not know how to drive them. They park anywhere and everywhere, on crossing, on double yellow lines and this is just to name a few- DRIVING AT LUNATIC SPEEDS in bad weather conditions The worst thing of all is having a small child on the Mothers knee's, no seat belt, father driving using his mobile. GET YOUR OWN HOUSE IN ORDER BEFORE BLAMING THE BRITS FOR EVERYTHING.

There is good and bad in all races and YOU are the bad, DO NOT TAR everyone to be the same as you.

To the person who has been burgled I am very sorry to hear about the break in and I really hope that the

I think that liitlejohn is only a wind up merchant. Have you noticed that he pops in to post his drivel and then steps back to 'observe' the reactions ?

Born, he says in Co. Down in '48 and 22 years in the services ?

I'd love to know which town in Down he was born AND which village ? ? ?

Though he may not be able to reveal which of the services he was in.

Sounds like another S.A.S. member to me, or at least a R.S.M. AHEM.............
